Oven Cleaning for Beeston homes
Two cookers, two jobs. The lets run a freestanding cooker wedged into a gap with no worktop beside it, so trays have nowhere to go. The semis toward Bramcote have a built-in double at eye level and a separate hob.
Oven cleaning here has two busy seasons rather than one. December is the national one, when people finally look properly inside the door before Christmas. The other is the fortnight at the end of June, when landlords near University Park book a run of houses in one go and the appliance is the item a check-out report always names. Those are different jobs. A let almost always has a freestanding cooker with a gas hob on top and a grill compartment nobody has ever used as a grill. The interwar semis toward Bramcote run a built-in oven in a tall housing with a separate hob set into the worktop, and occasionally a range in a kitchen that has been knocked through.
Beeston sits in NG9, under Broxtowe Borough Council. The housing here is mostly Victorian terraces near the High Road, interwar semis toward Bramcote, and a dense band of student housing close to University Park, and that is what shapes this job more than the floor area does.
What we run into on Beeston oven cleaning jobs
The practical constraint in a shared kitchen is space to work rather than the state of the appliance. A let kitchen in a terrace often has one short run of worktop carrying a kettle, a microwave and four separate bottles of cooking oil, no table, and nowhere at all for racks, runners, trays and a pane of door glass to sit while they soak. We bring a folding bench and lay protection on the floor, because the alternative is stacking caustic wet parts on a surface somebody is going to make toast on. The grill pan is the reliable find: used as a roasting tray all year, never as a grill pan, and carbonised on both faces.
How a Beeston oven cleaning job actually runs
Two things decide the timing. The oven has to be cold, so an occupied shared house needs a morning nobody is cooking in, which in term time is easier than it sounds and in late June is not. And the removable parts go into a heated tank in the van, so the distance between that van and the front door is a real part of the job rather than a detail. On the streets running down toward the university there is no drive and the kerb is taken from early on, so racks, runners, trays and a grill pan travel along a public pavement. They go in a covered tray and the route gets walked once before anything is lifted. Toward Bramcote there is normally a drive and none of that arises. Landlords with several houses tend to want them all in one visit, which works, though each cooker still needs its own dwell time. Four ovens in a day means four soaks running alongside each other, not one job repeated quickly.
Who books it here
On the practical side: The High Road is pedestrianised in parts and the tram runs through the middle, so we park on the residential streets and walk in. Nothing that affects your price, but it is why we ask which end of Beeston you are on.
We run Beeston on the same round as Chilwell, Stapleford and Lenton.
What we check on every Beeston job
What we find differs by which half of Beeston we are in. In a let the heaviest soil is on the oven floor and the bottom of the door, because the cooking is chips, frozen food and roasting trays that overflow, laid down on top of last term's without anything in between. The grill compartment above it is usually clean, since almost nobody uses one. In a family kitchen the pattern reverses: the fan cover and the housing behind it hold the grease, the cavity is respectable, and the brown run between the door panes is the thing that has been quietly annoying somebody for two years. Hobs split the same way. A let hob is gas, with burner caps that have boiled over repeatedly and a tray beneath them nobody knew lifted out. The semis run ceramic or induction, where the problem is burnt sugar taken off with a blade held flat rather than grease at all.
What the oven cleaning covers
A sample of what is included
- The oven itself: Cavity roof, floor, sides and back, treated and left to dwell rather than scoured
- The oven itself: Door glass separated where the panes come out, so the space between them is cleaned
- The oven itself: Racks, side runners, trays and the grill pan lifted out and soaked, not wiped in place
- The oven itself: Rinsed repeatedly, so nothing smokes the first time you use it
That is a sample rather than the whole list. The full oven cleaning page sets out every section of the scope, what is deliberately excluded and why, how long it takes on each property size, and what tends to go wrong.
The cleaner who comes to your Beeston property is directly employed and vetted by us rather than subcontracted, and the questions that come up before a first booking are answered on the FAQ page. If you are not certain this is the right service, the services hub compares all 14.
What oven cleaning costs in Beeston
Oven cleaning is priced per appliance rather than by the hour. Published Nottingham lists sit in the lower half of every range here. Our own cost research puts the Midlands at around the UK average to 10% below it, so Nottingham sits in the lower half of every range on this page.
£45 to £80
Typical per appliance in Beeston. A written fixed price for your property takes about a minute: ask for one.
| Property | Typical per appliance |
|---|---|
| Single oven | £45 to £80 |
| Double oven, or oven and separate grill | £70 to £110 |
| Range cooker, 90cm to 110cm | £80 to £130 |
| Aga or heat storage cooker | £100 to £200 |
| Hob, gas or ceramic | £10 to £30 |
| Extractor hood | £15 to £30 |
The single oven price is rarely the whole quote. An oven, the hob and the extractor hood together come to roughly £70 to £140, because the second and third items add cleaning time but not another journey. Booking them separately across three visits costs noticeably more than booking them together.
Priced separately
| Extra | Typical cost |
|---|---|
| Microwave | £15 to £30 |
| Extra grill pan or set of racks | £5 to £10 |
| Heavy soiling, an oven left for years | £20 to £30 on top |
| Several appliances in one visit | Usually £10 to £20 off, or the smallest item included |
These are typical Nottingham market ranges, not our price list. We quote a fixed price in writing for your property before anything starts, because a number produced from a bedroom count alone has priced an average property rather than yours. The figures above come from our own UK cost research, set out in full in this guide.
Is a separate oven clean worth it before a check-out, or will the tenancy clean cover it?
For an appliance four or five people have cooked in since September, book it as its own item. An end of tenancy clean gives the oven about an hour and cleans it where it stands, which is right for a maintained appliance and nowhere near enough for a year of shared cooking. Booked on its own it comes apart, and the door glass is the part an inventory clerk photographs.
The cooker is freestanding and the kitchen is tiny. Can it be pulled out?
Usually, and it is worth doing. A freestanding cooker in a narrow terrace kitchen comes out where it is safe to move it, so the sides, the plinth gap and the floor underneath get cleaned rather than guessed at. What does not happen is disconnection: a gas cooker stays on its bayonet fitting and a hardwired appliance stays where it is, both of which are jobs for a registered engineer rather than a cleaner.
Can the oven be done on the same day as the end of tenancy clean?
It can, and the order matters more than the day does. The appliance goes first, because rinsing it repeatedly puts water and residue onto a kitchen floor that is about to be cleaned, and a cleaner working around a stripped cooker loses time on both jobs. Where a check-out is running to a fixed appointment we would rather take the oven a day earlier, so nothing is still soaking while the rest of the property is being finished off.
This oven has not been touched in three tenancies. Is it worth cleaning or replacing?
Cleaning, almost always, unless the enamel is chipped, the seal has perished or the inner pane has crazed, and those three are what we look for and photograph before anything is applied. Carbon that thick wants two applications and a longer dwell, so it costs more than a yearly clean would have, and nothing like a new appliance plus an installer. Rust ends the argument: that is metal gone rather than soil sitting on it.
Do you cover the whole of Beeston?
Yes, all of NG9 and the surrounding streets, under Broxtowe Borough Council. We are based in New Basford, NG7, and there is no travel charge to any part of our area.
How much does oven cleaning cost in Beeston?
The same as anywhere else on our patch, because we do not price by postcode. What moves the number for this service is the number of appliances rather than the hours, whether it is a single, double or range, and how long it has been since the last one. Tell us that and you get a fixed price in writing rather than a range.
How soon can you start oven cleaning in Beeston?
Usually within a few days, because it is a one visit job that does not need a rota slot building around it. The High Road is pedestrianised in parts and the tram runs through the middle, so we park on the residential streets and walk in, and we group Beeston with Chilwell, Stapleford and Lenton on the rota.
