Oven Cleaning for Stapleford homes

Two kitchens, two jobs. A back addition where the cooker stands in the old range recess and the open door blocks the only route through, and a refitted semi with a built under single and a tall unit hard against it.

Kitchens in the older terraces sit in the back addition, and the cooker nearly always stands where the range once did, in a recess with a wall close on either side. That recess sets the shape of the work. A freestanding cooker draws forward so the sides and the gap beside it get done, which is the part no wipe over has ever reached, but the open door then fills the only route between the back door and the rest of the house, so it is worked in one continuous pass rather than in and out. The refitted semis give you the opposite problem: a built under single with a tall housing hard against it, nothing to draw forward, and a fascia that comes off before the fan cover is reachable at all.

Stapleford sits in NG9, under Broxtowe Borough Council. The housing here is mostly Victorian and Edwardian terraces near the town centre, interwar semis around them, and small commercial premises along Derby Road, and that is what shapes this job more than the floor area does.

What we run into on Stapleford oven cleaning jobs

The recess is where the finds are. Draw a cooker out of one and the wall behind it is usually original plaster under paint, carrying a hard brown film baked on at grill height, and the floor beneath is either the old quarry tile or a piece of vinyl cut around the appliance instead of laid under it. Neither of those belongs to an oven clean, but both get pointed out, because a spotless cavity beside a wall like that still reads as an unfinished job. The floors down there are rarely level either, so the cooker rocks, and one rocking on a bayonet hose is a gas engineer's call rather than ours.

How a Stapleford oven cleaning job actually runs

Where the soaking happens is the thing to settle first. Racks, side runners, trays and the grill pan come out of the appliance and go into a heated tank, and the tank travels with the van, so the walk between your front door and wherever the van can legally stand is a genuine part of the appointment rather than a detail. On the streets around the town centre that walk lengthens as the morning goes on, which is one reason oven work here takes an early slot by preference. Yards behind the terraces are usually big enough to stand a covered tank in, and where that suits better we ask rather than assume. The appliance itself has to be stone cold before anything is applied, so a cooker last used the previous evening is fine and one used at lunchtime is not. Power and hot water need to be on. Past that you do not have to be in the room, and there is no waiting period at the end: it is rinsed until the water comes off clean, put back together, and cooked in that same evening.

Who books it here

On the practical side: Town centre parking is limited; the residential streets are fine.

We run Stapleford on the same round as Chilwell, Beeston and Bilborough.

What we check on every Stapleford job

The extractor over the cooker is the other half of the job in a back addition kitchen, and it is nearly always a recirculating hood rather than a ducted one, because there is nowhere in that wall to put an outlet that does not discharge into the yard at head height. So the air goes up, through a charcoal filter nobody has ever changed, and straight back into the room, and the grease it stopped holding has landed on the underside of the wall cupboard alongside and on the ceiling directly over the hob. With a ceiling that low, the ceiling is part of the work. The metal mesh filters come out and go into solution, since that is where most of the grease actually sits. A charcoal filter gets reported instead of cleaned, because washing one achieves nothing and it is a replacement item.

What the oven cleaning covers

A sample of what is included

  • Hobs, extractors and microwaves, each priced as its own item: Extractor canopy inside and out, and the grease trap where there is one
  • How the job is left: Existing damage photographed and pointed out before we start, not after
  • The oven itself: Cavity roof, floor, sides and back, treated and left to dwell rather than scoured
  • The oven itself: Interior light lens, fascia, controls and door handle

That is a sample rather than the whole list. The full oven cleaning page sets out every section of the scope, what is deliberately excluded and why, how long it takes on each property size, and what tends to go wrong.

The cleaner who comes to your Stapleford property is directly employed and vetted by us rather than subcontracted, and the questions that come up before a first booking are answered on the FAQ page. If you are not certain this is the right service, the services hub compares all 14.

What oven cleaning costs in Stapleford

Oven cleaning is priced per appliance rather than by the hour. Published Nottingham lists sit in the lower half of every range here. Our own cost research puts the Midlands at around the UK average to 10% below it, so Nottingham sits in the lower half of every range on this page.

£45 to £80

Typical per appliance in Stapleford. A written fixed price for your property takes about a minute: ask for one.

PropertyTypical per appliance
Single oven£45 to £80
Double oven, or oven and separate grill£70 to £110
Range cooker, 90cm to 110cm£80 to £130
Aga or heat storage cooker£100 to £200
Hob, gas or ceramic£10 to £30
Extractor hood£15 to £30

The single oven price is rarely the whole quote. An oven, the hob and the extractor hood together come to roughly £70 to £140, because the second and third items add cleaning time but not another journey. Booking them separately across three visits costs noticeably more than booking them together.

Priced separately

ExtraTypical cost
Microwave£15 to £30
Extra grill pan or set of racks£5 to £10
Heavy soiling, an oven left for years£20 to £30 on top
Several appliances in one visitUsually £10 to £20 off, or the smallest item included

These are typical Nottingham market ranges, not our price list. We quote a fixed price in writing for your property before anything starts, because a number produced from a bedroom count alone has priced an average property rather than yours. The figures above come from our own UK cost research, set out in full in this guide.

It is a gas cooker slotted into a gap. Will you pull it out?

Where the hose has slack and the restraint allows it, yes, and that is when the sides and the gap either side get cleaned properly. What we will not do is take a cooker off its bayonet fitting or disconnect anything, because that is gas work. Some of these are fitted with barely enough hose to move a hand's width, and in that case we clean what is reachable and tell you plainly what was not.

Does the door glass come out on an older cooker?

Sometimes. On plenty of freestanding models the inner pane sits in clips at the top of the door and lifts straight out once the trim is released, and that is where the brown film you can see but never reach has been collecting. On others it is bonded in place, and forcing it cracks it. We identify the model before promising anything, and where the panes will not separate we say so instead of quietly leaving it.

There is a grill in a box above the oven. Is that a double?

It depends on whether the top box is a second cavity or a grill compartment, and the two are priced and timed differently. A true double has two cavities, two doors and two sets of racks, so everything doubles. A grill compartment is smaller but often the filthiest part of the appliance, since a grill pan smokes upward and nothing has ever been lifted out of it. Tell us which you have when you book so the time allowed is right.

Can the hob and the microwave be done on the same visit?

Yes, and it is the sensible way round it, because the tank is already hot and the floor is already covered. Each is quoted as its own item. Gas hobs in the terraces mean burner caps, crowns, pan supports and the tray beneath them all soaking separately. The ceramic tops in the refitted semis want a blade held flat on burnt sugar instead. Microwaves take the roof plate, the turntable and the door seal.

Do you cover the whole of Stapleford?

Yes, all of NG9 and the surrounding streets, under Broxtowe Borough Council. We are based in New Basford, NG7, and there is no travel charge to any part of our area.

How much does oven cleaning cost in Stapleford?

The same as anywhere else on our patch, because we do not price by postcode. What moves the number for this service is the number of appliances rather than the hours, whether it is a single, double or range, and how long it has been since the last one. Tell us that and you get a fixed price in writing rather than a range.

How soon can you start oven cleaning in Stapleford?

Usually within a few days, because it is a one visit job that does not need a rota slot building around it. Town centre parking is limited; the residential streets are fine, and we group Stapleford with Chilwell, Beeston and Bilborough on the rota.
