Oven Cleaning for Bramcote homes

An unaltered rear kitchen gives you one short worktop run and nowhere to stand a soaking rack. The appliance is usually a built under double from a nineties refit, and it is the lower cavity at knee height that carries the years.

Three appliances account for most of the bookings on this hill. Houses refitted in the nineties or the early two thousands have a built under double, with a shallow top cavity that most families end up using as a warming drawer and a main oven below it at knee height. Houses that were never refitted still run a freestanding sixty centimetre cooker standing in a gap, and where that is gas the burner crowns and the cast pan supports come with it. Properties whose kitchens were opened out during a full reorder tend to have a range, ninety centimetres or wider, with two cavities and a hob broad enough to be an item in its own right. Which of those you own sets the length of the visit, more than how bad it looks does.

Bramcote sits in NG9, under Broxtowe Borough Council. The housing here is mostly interwar and postwar semis and detached houses spread across the hill, on larger plots than the streets below, with 1960s and 1970s builds stepped into the slope and mature trees over most of it, and that is what shapes this job more than the floor area does.

What we run into on Bramcote oven cleaning jobs

There is nowhere to put anything down, and that shapes the visit. A rear kitchen that has never been reordered runs one short worktop between the sink and the cooker, and it is the only clear surface in the room, so racks, side runners, trays and the grill pan cannot all sit on it while they soak. The tank goes on the floor with the covering protected first, and the shelves go out to the van rather than onto a garden path. Parts have to stay in solution for a long stretch, and a kitchen with them balanced on every ledge is a kitchen nobody can walk through for the afternoon.

How a Bramcote oven cleaning job actually runs

Take a morning slot if you can, because an oven clean is mostly dwell time and the appliance is out of use from the moment the door comes off. The cooker has to be stone cold, so nothing gets switched on for several hours beforehand, and that includes a range that has been ticking over overnight. Power and hot water both need to be live, since the tank runs off a socket and the rinsing stage uses far more water than anybody expects. The van stands for the length of the visit rather than dropping and going, so say where you want it while you still have the choice about it. Hobs, extractors and microwaves are each their own item rather than something folded into the oven, and the practical way to buy it is to name everything at booking and have the whole kitchen quoted as one visit, because several appliances done together take much less time than the same appliances booked apart. Enquiries cluster before Christmas and before a house goes on the market, and both of those want weeks of notice rather than days.

Who books it here

On the practical side: Drives on most properties, which is just as well, because the lanes on the hill are narrow. Tell us if yours climbs steeply, or if the only sensible door is at the top of a flight up from the pavement.

We run Bramcote on the same round as Beeston, Chilwell and Stapleford.

What we check on every Bramcote job

Two finds repeat in these kitchens. The first is the extractor. Where the cooker sits against an internal wall the hood almost always recirculates rather than ducting out, which means a charcoal filter that is replaced rather than washed, and on a hood fitted at the same time as the kitchen it is frequently still the original. That filter stops absorbing long before anybody notices, so the grease it should have caught is on the canopy, on the underside of the wall unit above it and on the ceiling in a soft brown halo. The second is the door glass on a built under double. The panes are separated by a gap left open at the hinge end, and years of spillage has run in there and dried into streaks that read from the front as a filthy oven. No amount of work on the outer face touches them. The glass comes out, both inner faces are done, and it goes back in the order it came apart.

What the oven cleaning covers

A sample of what is included

  • The oven itself: Door glass separated where the panes come out, so the space between them is cleaned
  • Hobs, extractors and microwaves, each priced as its own item: Gas hobs: burner caps, crowns, pan supports and the tray underneath, all soaked separately
  • Hobs, extractors and microwaves, each priced as its own item: Microwave interior, roof plate, turntable and door seal
  • How the job is left: Everything reassembled in the right order, including the glass, and the door checked for closure

That is a sample rather than the whole list. The full oven cleaning page sets out every section of the scope, what is deliberately excluded and why, how long it takes on each property size, and what tends to go wrong.

The cleaner who comes to your Bramcote property is directly employed and vetted by us rather than subcontracted, and the questions that come up before a first booking are answered on the FAQ page. If you are not certain this is the right service, the services hub compares all 14.

What oven cleaning costs in Bramcote

Oven cleaning is priced per appliance rather than by the hour. Published Nottingham lists sit in the lower half of every range here. Our own cost research puts the Midlands at around the UK average to 10% below it, so Nottingham sits in the lower half of every range on this page.

£45 to £80

Typical per appliance in Bramcote. A written fixed price for your property takes about a minute: ask for one.

PropertyTypical per appliance
Single oven£45 to £80
Double oven, or oven and separate grill£70 to £110
Range cooker, 90cm to 110cm£80 to £130
Aga or heat storage cooker£100 to £200
Hob, gas or ceramic£10 to £30
Extractor hood£15 to £30

The single oven price is rarely the whole quote. An oven, the hob and the extractor hood together come to roughly £70 to £140, because the second and third items add cleaning time but not another journey. Booking them separately across three visits costs noticeably more than booking them together.

Priced separately

ExtraTypical cost
Microwave£15 to £30
Extra grill pan or set of racks£5 to £10
Heavy soiling, an oven left for years£20 to £30 on top
Several appliances in one visitUsually £10 to £20 off, or the smallest item included

These are typical Nottingham market ranges, not our price list. We quote a fixed price in writing for your property before anything starts, because a number produced from a bedroom count alone has priced an average property rather than yours. The figures above come from our own UK cost research, set out in full in this guide.

Questions

Oven Cleaningin Bramcote

Ring us on 07438 843980, or see the full service page.

The kitchen is the only route through to the garden. How long is it unusable?

Not the whole visit, and the route gets planned before anything comes apart. The floor is covered, the tank sits out of the way rather than in the doorway, and there is a walkable line through the room at all times. What is genuinely out of use is the cooker, from the moment the door comes off to the moment it is back together and the closure has been checked. There is no waiting period afterwards and nothing smells on first heat.

The lower oven has never once been used. Does it still need doing?

Usually yes, and it is rarely as clean as people expect it to be. A cavity that is never heated still shares the fan and the ventilation of the one above it, so it collects a fine greasy film rather than baked carbon, and the seal and the glass go dull along with it. That takes far less time than a used cavity does. Say at booking that the second oven has never been fired and the job gets quoted for what it actually is.

Can the hob and the extractor be done in the same visit?

Yes, and it is the efficient way round, because most of an oven clean is waiting rather than working and the hob and the hood get done inside that dwell time. Each is priced as its own item, so tell us what is there when you book: a gas hob with cast supports, a ceramic top with burnt sugar welded to it, a hood with mesh filters or a recirculating one with charcoal. Mesh filters degrease and go back. Charcoal is replaced rather than cleaned.

There is brown liquid trapped between the panes of the door. Where did that come from?

Roasting. Fat and juices vaporise, condense on the cooler inner faces of the glass and run down, and on most models the gap between the panes is open at the hinge end, so there is a route in and none back out. It is not a fault and not a failed seal. Where the inner panes come out, both faces get cleaned and the door closure is checked on reassembly. Where they are bonded it cannot be reached, and we will tell you which yours is at the door.

Do you cover the whole of Bramcote?

Yes, all of NG9 and the surrounding streets, under Broxtowe Borough Council. We are based in New Basford, NG7, and there is no travel charge to any part of our area.

How much does oven cleaning cost in Bramcote?

The same as anywhere else on our patch, because we do not price by postcode. What moves the number for this service is the number of appliances rather than the hours, whether it is a single, double or range, and how long it has been since the last one. Tell us that and you get a fixed price in writing rather than a range.

How soon can you start oven cleaning in Bramcote?

Usually within a few days, because it is a one visit job that does not need a rota slot building around it. Drives on most properties, which is just as well, because the lanes on the hill are narrow, and we group Bramcote with Beeston, Chilwell and Stapleford on the rota.
