Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning for Stapleford homes

Family homes and let terraces, grouped onto the same day as the rest of our Stapleford round so the travel does not land on your price.

Carpet cleaning in a Stapleford terrace is shaped by the building rather than the carpet. The front door opens off the pavement, so road grit lands directly on the pile with no hall or porch to catch it, and the stairs usually rise straight out of the living room, which puts the highest traffic run in the room you sit in every evening. Solid walls with no cavity also make the house slower to dry, particularly in winter, so technique matters more here than it does in a modern semi: less moisture, more dry passes, and forced air rather than a wet clean and an open window in January.

Stapleford sits in NG9, under Broxtowe Borough Council. The housing here is mostly Victorian and Edwardian terraces near the town centre, interwar semis around them, and small commercial premises along Derby Road, and that is what shapes this job more than the floor area does.

What we run into on Stapleford carpet & upholstery cleaning jobs

Access decides how we work. Most of these terraces have no side entry, so the hose runs in through the front door and the door has to stay ajar while we work, which is fine in September and unpleasant in February. We bring a portable unit inside rather than running a long line off the van where street parking makes that awkward, and we schedule terraces earlier in the day so the pile has hours of daylight to dry in. Furniture legs get protective tabs and keep them until the following morning.

How a Stapleford carpet & upholstery cleaning job actually runs

Two different bookings come off the same street. In the semis it is the continuous run of hall, stairs and landing plus a through lounge, cleaned as one job because the same carpet crosses all of it and a joint between a cleaned and an uncleaned section stays visible for months. In the smaller terraces it is more often a suite than a floor, because a three piece suite in a front room cannot go outside and has to be worked in place with roughly half a metre behind it. Autumn is the busy end of the year for both, once dogs have been through Bramcote Hills Park and the wet season starts walking that back in. Carpet work goes early in the day on the shared round so the pile has daylight left to dry in, and we would rather move a booking than start one at four in the afternoon in November. Where somebody wants the carpets and the upholstery doing together, the upholstery goes first, so the foam inside the cushions gets the longest possible head start on drying.

Who books it here

Domestic rounds in the terraces and semis, plus small commercial premises along Derby Road. We group Stapleford visits onto shared days.

We run Stapleford on the same round as Chilwell, Beeston and Bilborough.

What we check on every Stapleford job

The fibre is identified before anything is chosen, because a wool rich twist and a polypropylene loop want different chemistry and a high pH cleaner on wool costs you the colour. A colourfast test goes somewhere it will not show. Upholstery is checked for the care code on the label, W, S, WS or X, and an X means nothing wet touches it at all. Then the dry work: a proper vacuum, hair lifted with a rubber brush, down the sides and under the cushions, and the crevice between arm and seat where the grit collects. Pre spray with real dwell time, agitation, extraction, then a neutralising rinse so no sticky residue is left behind pulling soil back in. The suite is done panel by panel so no drying edge shows across a cushion. The carpet edge along the skirting and the gripper line get their own pass, since a wand cannot reach into them.

What the carpet & upholstery cleaning covers

A sample of what is included

  • Carpets: Pile groomed, protective tabs under furniture legs
  • Carpets: Neutralising rinse, so no sticky detergent residue is left to attract soil
  • Carpets: Hot water extraction at pressure
  • Carpets: Agitation with a brush or rotary tool

That is a sample rather than the whole list. The full carpet & upholstery cleaning page sets out every section of the scope, what is deliberately excluded and why, how long it takes on each property size, and what tends to go wrong.

What carpet & upholstery cleaning costs in Stapleford

Hot water extraction, priced by room or by property. Our own cost research puts the Midlands at around the UK average to 10% below it, so Nottingham sits in the lower half of every range on this page.

PropertyTypical one-off
Minimum call-out£60 to £90
Single room£35 to £60
Hallway, stairs and landing£45 to £85
2 bed flat, throughout£75 to £175
3 bed house, throughout£140 to £260
4 bed house, throughout£200 to £350

Stairs are priced separately from rooms because they are slow and cannot be done with a standard wand.

Priced separately

ExtraTypical cost
Upholstery, 3 seat sofa£45 to £90
Mattress clean£30 to £60
Pet urine treatment, per spot£15 to £40
Rug, per square metre£8 to £20

These are typical Nottingham market ranges, not our price list. We quote a fixed price in writing for your property before anything starts, because a number produced from a bedroom count alone has priced an average property rather than yours. The figures above come from our own UK cost research, set out in full in this guide.

How long will it take to dry in a terrace like ours?

Two to six hours with good extraction, at the longer end in winter when you cannot leave the windows open. We reduce the moisture accordingly and leave air moving before we go. If a room still feels damp the next morning, that is over-wetting rather than something about the house, and it is worth saying so to whoever cleaned it.

The stairs come straight out of the living room. Does that change the price?

Stairs are priced separately wherever they are, because they are slow and cannot be done with a standard wand. In a Stapleford terrace they also carry more traffic than usual, since there is no hallway to spread the wear. It is normally the flight, rather than the rooms, that decides whether the whole job looks properly improved.

The dog comes back filthy from the park all autumn. Is there any point cleaning before spring?

Yes, because the damage is abrasion rather than appearance. Wet mud dries to grit that sits at the base of the pile and cuts the fibre every time someone walks over it, and once the tips have abraded the carpet does not come back. Cleaning mid season takes that out. A mat inside and out, and a slow weekly vacuum pass along the same run, does the rest of the work.

Can you clean the sofa where it stands? There is nowhere to move it to.

Yes. What we need is enough room to get behind it for the back panel and the outside arms, which usually means pulling it forward a few feet for an hour and putting it back before we go. Low moisture is the right approach on upholstery anyway, since the foam underneath holds water for days, so the covers are damp rather than wet by the time we leave.

Do you cover the whole of Stapleford?

Yes, all of NG9 and the surrounding streets, under Broxtowe Borough Council. We are based in New Basford, NG7, and there is no travel charge to any part of our area.

How much does carpet & upholstery cleaning cost in Stapleford?

The same as anywhere else on our patch, because we do not price by postcode. What moves the number for this service is the room count, whether stairs are included, the fibre type, and whether there is pet urine to treat. Tell us that and you get a fixed price in writing rather than a range.

How soon can you start carpet & upholstery cleaning in Stapleford?

Within a week usually, and we would rather do it alongside a deep clean than as a separate visit. Town centre parking is limited; the residential streets are fine, and we group Stapleford with Chilwell, Beeston and Bilborough on the rota.
