Office & Commercial Cleaning for Bingham homes

Small professional offices in converted houses near the market place, shops with a flat or a business above, and small industrial units on the edge of town. Market mornings put grit and vegetable trimmings through a doorway that no mat length quite handles.

The commercial work in a market town is small premises with a front door on a street rather than a floor of a building. Professional offices in converted houses near the centre, a treatment room or two above a shop, and small industrial units on the edge of town. Two things follow from that. The first is that there is usually no back way in, so cleaning materials and waste come and go through the same door the public uses, which fixes the hours more than the specification does. The second is the doorway itself. A shop front on a market square takes the entire street in on people's feet, and it takes it in wet from October onwards.

Bingham sits in NG13, under Rushcliffe Borough Council. On the practical side: On the newer estates the road is often unadopted and missing from a satnav, so a plot number and a description of the house find us the door faster than a postcode. In the centre, avoid the market place on a market morning.

What we run into on Bingham office & commercial cleaning jobs

A house used as an office wears in a way a house never does. The staircase is the clearest example: a domestic stair carpet built for a family going up and down a few times a day is taking thirty people twice a day, and it goes flat and grey in a single strip up the middle while the edges stay new. Vacuuming will not restore it because the fibre is crushed rather than dirty, and by the time anyone notices, grit walked in from outside has already cut the fibre. Extraction once or twice a year and a proper barrier mat at the front door together buy several years of that carpet.

How a Bingham office & commercial cleaning job actually runs

Most premises here are locked and empty when the work happens, which makes the whole arrangement a question of keys and alarms rather than of hours. Somebody has to hold a key and a code, and that wants recording properly: who holds it, what happens when an alarm activates, and which named contact or keyholding company answers in the middle of the night. The dark is the next thing. Cleaning a unit on the edge of town in January means arriving to an unlit yard with nobody else about, so we will not send anyone to an isolated site on their own, and we say which sites those are. The last thing is that this is a small town. A cleaner in a solicitor's office, an accountant's or a treatment room sees paperwork, names and appointment books belonging to people they will queue behind in a shop on Saturday morning. Discretion is not an abstract policy in a place this size, it is the reason a client keeps you, so desks are left alone and a clear desk habit at close of play protects everybody.

Who books it here

The local reference points are the Market Place and its buttercross, St Mary and All Saints' Church, and Bingham Arena, which is usually enough for us to find a property without a postcode lookup.

We run Bingham on the same round as Radcliffe on Trent, Cotgrave and Burton Joyce.

What we check on every Bingham job

The washroom is what gives a small office away, and the fault is usually the fan rather than the cleaning. A domestic extractor wired to come on with the light runs for a few minutes and stops, which suits a household and is hopeless for a toilet in constant use through a working day. Moisture and everything carried in it settles onto the walls, the back of the door and the floor. The smell people complain about is almost never in the pan. It is in the joint where the pan meets the floor, in the flexible waste pipe behind it, and in the vinyl seam that has lifted along the skirting, and all three want a brush and a proper sanitiser rather than a mop passing over the middle of the room. Doing the base and the back of the pan at every visit is what makes the complaint stop.

What the office & commercial cleaning covers

A sample of what is included

  • Weekly or fortnightly: Desk legs and chair bases
  • Weekly or fortnightly: Skirting boards
  • Weekly or fortnightly: Internal glass and partitions
  • Every visit: Reception, entrance glass and meeting rooms reset

That is a sample rather than the whole list. The full office & commercial cleaning page sets out every section of the scope, what is deliberately excluded and why, how long it takes on each property size, and what tends to go wrong.

What office & commercial cleaning costs in Bingham

Contract office cleaning, weekly cost on a standard specification out of hours. Our own cost research puts the Midlands at around the UK average to 10% below it, so Nottingham sits in the lower half of every range on this page.

£60 to £120

Typical per week in Bingham. A written fixed price for your property takes about a minute: ask for one.

PropertyTypical per week
Up to 10 desks, 2 to 3 visits£60 to £120
10 to 25 desks, 3 to 5 visits£120 to £280
25 to 50 desks, 5 visits£280 to £520
50 to 100 desks, 5 visits£520 to £950
100+ desks£950 and up

Washroom count moves a quote more than desk count does. Two extra cubicles change the hours more than twenty extra desks.

Priced separately

ExtraTypical cost
Office cleaning, per hour£15 to £28
Carpet deep clean£1.50 to £3.50 per m²
Hard floor strip and reseal£3 to £7 per m²
Washroom deep clean and descale£150 to £400

These are typical Nottingham market ranges, not our price list. We quote a fixed price in writing for your property before anything starts, because a number produced from a bedroom count alone has priced an average property rather than yours. The figures above come from our own UK cost research, set out in full in this guide.

We are three people in a converted house. Is a cleaning contract worth it?

It is, though the shape is short and frequent rather than one long weekly visit. Three people still produce a washroom, a kitchen and a staircase carrying outside traffic, and those are exactly what a visitor forms an opinion from. Put it in writing even at this size. An hours figure by itself proves nothing when the standard slips in month five, whereas a room by room list with intervals against the periodic work does.

The market is on outside our door. Can you work around it?

Yes, and the timing is the part worth agreeing rather than the method. On market mornings the square is loading from early, the pavement in front of the shops is in use and there is nowhere to leave a van, so we come before it sets up or after it clears. The entrance mat is the other thing. It wants lifting and cleaning underneath on those days rather than at the weekly interval, because it is holding the whole morning under it.

Who holds the key, and what happens if the alarm goes off?

Whatever you decide, settled and written down before the first visit. Some clients keep a key with us and put us on the alarm under our own code, some prefer a key safe on site, and some want a member of staff to let us in and lock up afterwards. What matters is that your alarm company and keyholder know a cleaner is due, that the code belongs to us alone so any activation can be traced, and that it is changed when anybody leaves.

We handle client files. How do you deal with paperwork left on desks?

We do not move it, read it or bin it. Desks are cleared of cups and wiped where the surface is visible, and anything with paper on it is left exactly as it is, which is why a clear desk habit gets you a better clean as well as a safer one. Confidential waste stays in your own sacks or console and we will not empty those. Our cleaners are DBS checked and sign a confidentiality agreement before they set foot in a client's premises.

Do you cover the whole of Bingham?

Yes, all of NG13 and the surrounding streets, under Rushcliffe Borough Council. We are based in New Basford, NG7, and there is no travel charge to any part of our area.

How much does office & commercial cleaning cost in Bingham?

The same as anywhere else on our patch, because we do not price by postcode. What moves the number for this service is the number of washrooms, the visit frequency, the flooring type and whether we supply consumables. Tell us that and you get a fixed price in writing rather than a range.

How soon can you start office & commercial cleaning in Bingham?

Allow four to six weeks if you are changing contractor, because TUPE, keys and site induction all take real time. On the newer estates the road is often unadopted and missing from a satnav, so a plot number and a description of the house find us the door faster than a postcode, and we group Bingham with Radcliffe on Trent, Cotgrave and Burton Joyce on the rota.
