Office & Commercial Cleaning for Compton Acres homes
The parade at the shopping centre: small retail units, food premises and a dental practice, sharing one service yard and one bin area. A treatment room is specified apart from a shop floor, with the products and the contact times written down.
Commercial floor space here sits in one place, the parade at the shopping centre, where a row of small units shares a roof and a service yard. The mix is what shapes the specification. A shop floor, a food and drink unit and a dental practice are three different standards of clean in one terrace, and the only things they genuinely share are the yard and the bins. It is also a parade with housing around it, which sets the hours as firmly as any of the cleaning does. A floor machine running before a reasonable hour is a complaint rather than an efficiency, so the noisier periodic work goes into daylight and the daily round goes early and quiet.
Compton Acres sits in NG2, under Rushcliffe Borough Council. On the practical side: Short block paved drives open onto the pavement, so the van gets clear of the road easily. Entry is usually the door from the garage rather than the front, which means a remote or a side door key, and the alarm keypad sits behind it.
What we run into on Compton Acres office & commercial cleaning jobs
The shared yard behind the parade is where specifications fall down, because it belongs to everyone and so to nobody. Fat and oil off the food unit reach it on the soles of staff and the wheels of the bins, then travel back in through every rear door on the row, and a shop three units along has a greasy back step and no idea why. The yard wants a degreaser and a stiff brush on a written frequency, not a mop, and the bin area needs a named person against it. Matting at the front is the other half: a barrier run deep enough to take several strides, lifted and washed rather than beaten out.
How a Compton Acres office & commercial cleaning job actually runs
Small commercial units on this side of West Bridgford are cleaned outside trading hours, which turns the practical questions into security ones. Somebody holds a key and an alarm code, and that has to be written down: who holds it, what happens if it goes missing, and who the alarm company rings when a sensor triggers at an hour nobody expects a person to be in the building. Lone working belongs in the same paragraph, because a unit at the back of a shared yard is dark and quiet in the evening and a cleaner working there alone should be checking in and out rather than simply turning up. Waste is the other thing that catches small units. Anything a business produces is commercial waste with a transfer note behind it, so it cannot go into a household bin at the front, and a unit with one small container needs its collection frequency matched to what it now produces rather than to what somebody signed up for years ago. All of that goes in the specification, in writing, before the first shift.
Who books it here
The local reference points are the tram stop on the Clifton line, the shopping centre parade and Becket School, which is usually enough for us to find a property without a postcode lookup.
We run Compton Acres on the same round as West Bridgford, Edwalton and Gamston.
What we check on every Compton Acres job
The staff kitchen in a small unit ages faster than any other room and appears in the fewest specifications. It holds domestic fittings doing commercial work: a kettle boiled a dozen times a day, a microwave used by everyone and cleaned by nobody, and a fridge keeping whatever somebody left in it on a Friday. The sink is the real problem. In a unit with no cleaner's cupboard, that same sink is where mop water gets emptied, so a food preparation basin is carrying floor soil down it and the trap underneath fills with a grey sludge that smells long before it stops draining. The fix is either a proper mop sink elsewhere or a written rule that the kitchen sink is not used for it, and the fridge needs a dated clear out on the schedule instead of an occasional heroic effort.
What the office & commercial cleaning covers
A sample of what is included
- Weekly or fortnightly: Internal glass and partitions
- Every visit: Kitchen and breakout areas
- Periodic, scheduled and priced up front: Entrance matting deep cleaned or replaced
- Periodic, scheduled and priced up front: Hard floor machine scrub, strip and reseal
That is a sample rather than the whole list. The full office & commercial cleaning page sets out every section of the scope, what is deliberately excluded and why, how long it takes on each property size, and what tends to go wrong.
What office & commercial cleaning costs in Compton Acres
Contract office cleaning, weekly cost on a standard specification out of hours. Our own cost research puts the Midlands at around the UK average to 10% below it, so Nottingham sits in the lower half of every range on this page.
£60 to £120
Typical per week in Compton Acres. A written fixed price for your property takes about a minute: ask for one.
| Property | Typical per week |
|---|---|
| Up to 10 desks, 2 to 3 visits | £60 to £120 |
| 10 to 25 desks, 3 to 5 visits | £120 to £280 |
| 25 to 50 desks, 5 visits | £280 to £520 |
| 50 to 100 desks, 5 visits | £520 to £950 |
| 100+ desks | £950 and up |
Washroom count moves a quote more than desk count does. Two extra cubicles change the hours more than twenty extra desks.
Priced separately
| Extra | Typical cost |
|---|---|
| Office cleaning, per hour | £15 to £28 |
| Carpet deep clean | £1.50 to £3.50 per m² |
| Hard floor strip and reseal | £3 to £7 per m² |
| Washroom deep clean and descale | £150 to £400 |
These are typical Nottingham market ranges, not our price list. We quote a fixed price in writing for your property before anything starts, because a number produced from a bedroom count alone has priced an average property rather than yours. The figures above come from our own UK cost research, set out in full in this guide.

We are a dental practice. Can a general cleaner do our rooms?
The public areas yes, the surgery no, and the specification has to say which is which in writing. Reception, the waiting area, corridors, staff room and washrooms are a commercial clean, with separate cloths per area and contact times written into the schedule. Anything inside the surgery is your decontamination policy and your registration, run by your own trained staff to your own written procedure. We clean up to that line and will not blur it, because blurring it risks your inspection, not ours.
One small unit on the parade. Is that too little for a contract?
It is small, and it works best attached to a round that is already on the parade rather than as a visit on its own. What we will not do is sell you a commercial specification and deliver a wipe round. If the honest answer is that you need three short visits a week rather than five, we will say that and write it down, so what you are buying and what you are not are both visible before anybody starts.
Do you supply the soap and paper?
We can, and it is usually simpler if we do, because running out of hand towels on a Friday afternoon is the thing people remember. What matters is agreeing it in writing, including which dispensers you have, since a cartridge system ties you to one product and a refillable one does not. If you would rather buy your own, tell us where the stock is kept and we will fill the dispensers each visit and let you know when it is running low.
Our unit has no cleaning cupboard. Is that a problem?
A practical one rather than a blocker. Cleaning chemicals need storing where the public and staff cannot reach them, with the labels intact and the safety data sheets available, and that is difficult in a unit where the only free space is under the kitchen sink next to the tea bags. The usual answer is that we bring what we need with us and take it away again, which also means nothing sits in a warm cupboard for months quietly losing strength.
Do you cover the whole of Compton Acres?
Yes, all of NG2 and the surrounding streets, under Rushcliffe Borough Council. We are based in New Basford, NG7, and there is no travel charge to any part of our area.
How much does office & commercial cleaning cost in Compton Acres?
The same as anywhere else on our patch, because we do not price by postcode. What moves the number for this service is the number of washrooms, the visit frequency, the flooring type and whether we supply consumables. Tell us that and you get a fixed price in writing rather than a range.
How soon can you start office & commercial cleaning in Compton Acres?
Allow four to six weeks if you are changing contractor, because TUPE, keys and site induction all take real time. Short block paved drives open onto the pavement, so the van gets clear of the road easily, and we group Compton Acres with West Bridgford, Edwalton and Gamston on the rota.
