Office & Commercial Cleaning for Sneinton homes

Studios and small units around Sneinton Market, several in converted industrial buildings with hard floors and big windows. Market days change the access completely.

Commercial work in Sneinton mostly means the studios and small units around the Market Avenues, and they clean nothing like a conventional office. Painted concrete or sealed screed floors instead of carpet tiles, roller shutters that let dust in along the bottom rail, a shared tea point rather than a kitchen, and often no cupboard at all to leave stock in. Businesses here run small, sometimes three or four people, so the specification is short and specific rather than a full contract. Access tends to be one shutter key and a code, and the practical constraint is that a lot of these units are makers and printers, so what is on the floor changes week to week.

Sneinton sits in NG2, under Nottingham City Council. On the practical side: Tight on-street parking and narrow entries between terraces. Sneinton Market days change the traffic completely.

What we run into on Sneinton office & commercial cleaning jobs

Shutter dust is the standing job. The bottom rail of a roller shutter sits on the threshold rather than sealing to it, so street grit blows in overnight and lands in a line about a metre inside the door. Sweeping that line before anything else stops it being walked through the whole unit. Where the floor is sealed concrete, we keep to a neutral pH product, because the strong degreasers that suit a workshop will strip the seal and leave a patchy matt band exactly where the footfall is heaviest.

How a Sneinton office & commercial cleaning job actually runs

Slots for the units round the market work backwards from what the tenant actually does rather than from an office day. A studio running classes wants us after the last session, a maker working late wants us early, and a unit behind a shared front door wants a time when somebody is there to open it. Most of these buildings have one washroom off a common corridor serving several tenants, and that single room decides the hours more than the floor area does. Stock and work in progress live on the floor, so the standing rule is agreed at the start: we clean around anything on a bench or a pallet and never move it, and anything inside a marked area on the floor stays where it is. Where a unit has a mezzanine, the stair treads and the floor underneath it are the two things a general specification always forgets. Deliveries use the same access we do, so an early slot costs everyone less time than a mid morning one.

Who books it here

The local reference points are Green's Windmill, Sneinton Market and Colwick Woods, which is usually enough for us to find a property without a postcode lookup.

We run Sneinton on the same round as Nottingham City Centre, Carlton and West Bridgford.

What we check on every Sneinton job

The shared washroom is where a specification earns its money: the cistern top, the underside of the seat hinge, the tiled skirt behind the pan, the hand dryer intake grille or the towel dispenser, the floor edge where it meets the wall, and consumables logged rather than eyeballed. Colour coded cloths stay in that room and leave in a bag. At the tea point we descale the kettle, clear the sink trap, wipe the fridge seal and apply your own rule about what gets thrown out rather than ours. On the unit floor we lift bins and clean underneath them rather than around them, wipe switch plates and the bodies of trailing sockets without unplugging anything, and clear the fire exit route as a matter of course. Extract grilles get a brush pass, and where the filter behind one is past brushing we tell you instead of closing the grille back over it.

What the office & commercial cleaning covers

A sample of what is included

  • Weekly or fortnightly: Internal glass and partitions
  • Periodic, scheduled and priced up front: Carpet deep cleaning
  • Every visit: Desks and hard surfaces, subject to a clear desk policy
  • Every visit: Reception, entrance glass and meeting rooms reset

That is a sample rather than the whole list. The full office & commercial cleaning page sets out every section of the scope, what is deliberately excluded and why, how long it takes on each property size, and what tends to go wrong.

The cleaner who comes to your Sneinton property is directly employed and vetted by us rather than subcontracted, and the questions that come up before a first booking are answered on the FAQ page. If you are not certain this is the right service, the services hub compares all 8.

What office & commercial cleaning costs in Sneinton

Contract office cleaning, weekly cost on a standard specification out of hours. Our own cost research puts the Midlands at around the UK average to 10% below it, so Nottingham sits in the lower half of every range on this page.

PropertyTypical per week
Up to 10 desks, 2 to 3 visits£60 to £120
10 to 25 desks, 3 to 5 visits£120 to £280
25 to 50 desks, 5 visits£280 to £520
50 to 100 desks, 5 visits£520 to £950
100+ desks£950 and up

Washroom count moves a quote more than desk count does. Two extra cubicles change the hours more than twenty extra desks.

Priced separately

ExtraTypical cost
Office cleaning, per hour£15 to £28
Carpet deep clean£1.50 to £3.50 per m²
Hard floor strip and reseal£3 to £7 per m²
Washroom deep clean and descale£150 to £400

These are typical Nottingham market ranges, not our price list. We quote a fixed price in writing for your property before anything starts, because a number produced from a bedroom count alone has priced an average property rather than yours. The figures above come from our own UK cost research, set out in full in this guide.

Office & Commercial Cleaningin Sneinton

Ring us on 07438 843980, or see the full service page.

We have no cupboard to store cleaning stock. Does that work?

Yes. We bring everything in and take it out again, which is how most of the Sneinton Market studios are set up anyway. It does mean the visit needs a realistic slot rather than a fifteen minute drop in, since carrying kit in from the van is part of the job. If you would rather keep a set of consumables on site, a single lockable box is enough.

Do you deal with our trade waste?

We bag it and move it to your bin store, and that is where our part ends. Business waste is not household waste, so it needs your own trade collection with a transfer note, and a cleaner cannot legally take it away for you. If several units share a store, agree between you who holds the contract, because that is the detail that usually gets missed.

The washroom is shared between four units. Who is meant to be paying for it?

Whoever the lease says, and it is worth checking before you assume. Sometimes it sits in the service charge and the landlord arranges it, sometimes one tenant holds the contract and the others contribute, and sometimes nobody has ever agreed and it shows. We can invoice each unit separately for its share, or invoice one of you, but the split has to come from you rather than from us.

We work with inks and pigment. Will that come off the sink and the bench?

Some of it. Fresh pigment lifts, and pigment that has sat in a ceramic glaze crack or in silicone sealant has stained rather than soiled, and no cleaner returns it. We use cloths kept for your unit alone so colour is not carried between jobs, and we tell you which marks are permanent at the first visit so they are not raised as a standard slipping later on.

Do you cover the whole of Sneinton?

Yes, all of NG2 and the surrounding streets, under Nottingham City Council. We are based in New Basford, NG7, and there is no travel charge to any part of our area.

How much does office & commercial cleaning cost in Sneinton?

The same as anywhere else on our patch, because we do not price by postcode. What moves the number for this service is the number of washrooms, the visit frequency, the flooring type and whether we supply consumables. Tell us that and you get a fixed price in writing rather than a range.

How soon can you start office & commercial cleaning in Sneinton?

Allow four to six weeks if you are changing contractor, because TUPE, keys and site induction all take real time. Tight on-street parking and narrow entries between terraces, and we group Sneinton with Nottingham City Centre, Carlton and West Bridgford on the rota.
