Office & Commercial Cleaning for Lady Bay homes
Commercial premises here are single shopfronts on the parade with a flat above and no yard behind. Everything, including the waste, goes out through the front door onto a footway with nowhere to load, so the work happens before the parade opens.
The commercial stock in this pocket is a short parade of single fronted units with living accommodation over them, plus a few consulting and treatment rooms working out of front rooms on the residential streets. Neither behaves like an office. A unit on the parade has one door, straight off the footway, with the shop floor, the back room and the stair to the flat all hanging off it, and no yard, no rear gate and no bin store that is not on the pavement. That means the cleaning has to finish before the shutters go up, because the moment they do the doorway is the only route in and out for customers, staff, deliveries and us. It also means the specification is written round one door and one bin run rather than round floor areas.
Lady Bay sits in NG2, under Rushcliffe Borough Council. On the practical side: One way in over the bridge and a grid that leads nowhere else, so the streets stay quiet and a space is usually there. Getting out is harder: fixtures across the water close the crossings, so we set start times against the published dates.
What we run into on Lady Bay office & commercial cleaning jobs
The floor at the threshold of a unit like this is the whole job. It sits level with the footway or one shallow step above it, and there is no lobby, no matting well and usually no room for more than a metre of mat. The footway delivers its whole load onto the shop floor within a step or two, and in wet weather the water arrives with it, because several of these frontages drain toward the door rather than away from it. Whatever the covering is, vinyl, tile or sealed board, the first two metres wear at several times the rate of the rest and need machine work rather than a mop.
How a Lady Bay office & commercial cleaning job actually runs
Trade waste catches nearly every small operator in this pocket, and it is usually the part of a cleaning arrangement discovered late. Commercial waste cannot go into a household bin, and where a unit has a flat over it there is generally one bin store serving both, so the two streams end up mixed without anyone deciding to mix them. Where we remove waste we do it through a documented arrangement with a licensed carrier and you keep the paperwork, because the duty of care sits with the business that produced the rubbish rather than with whoever carried the bag out. The practical version on these streets is that bins get presented on the footway, brought back the same day, and never left overnight where they narrow an already narrow pavement. We agree at the start who does that and on which day, whether it is us, your staff or the household upstairs, and it goes into the written specification so that nobody assumes somebody else has it.
Who books it here
The local reference points are Lady Bay Bridge, Trent Boulevard, the Poppy and Pint, the Hook and Adbolton Lane, which is usually enough for us to find a property without a postcode lookup.
We run Lady Bay on the same round as West Bridgford, The Meadows and Sneinton.
What we check on every Lady Bay job
The bed of a display window is the most looked at surface in a small shop and the least often cleaned. It sits behind glass in full light, it warms up through the day, and nothing in it moves between window changes, so it collects a fine pale dust that shows against any dark base, with a scatter of dead flies in the corners where the frame meets the sill. It gets skipped because reaching it means the display comes out, which nobody wants to do on a weekday morning. So we set a separate frequency for it and time it to whenever you are changing the window anyway. The inside face of the glass goes at the same visit, because that surface films over with condensation residue and carries hand marks along the bottom edge where customers lean in to look.
What the office & commercial cleaning covers
A sample of what is included
- Weekly or fortnightly: Microwave interiors
- Periodic, scheduled and priced up front: High level dusting including light fittings and vents
- Every visit: Touch points named individually: door handles, push plates, light switches, lift buttons, handrails, kitchen taps
- Every visit: Reception, entrance glass and meeting rooms reset
That is a sample rather than the whole list. The full office & commercial cleaning page sets out every section of the scope, what is deliberately excluded and why, how long it takes on each property size, and what tends to go wrong.
What office & commercial cleaning costs in Lady Bay
Contract office cleaning, weekly cost on a standard specification out of hours. Our own cost research puts the Midlands at around the UK average to 10% below it, so Nottingham sits in the lower half of every range on this page.
£60 to £120
Typical per week in Lady Bay. A written fixed price for your property takes about a minute: ask for one.
| Property | Typical per week |
|---|---|
| Up to 10 desks, 2 to 3 visits | £60 to £120 |
| 10 to 25 desks, 3 to 5 visits | £120 to £280 |
| 25 to 50 desks, 5 visits | £280 to £520 |
| 50 to 100 desks, 5 visits | £520 to £950 |
| 100+ desks | £950 and up |
Washroom count moves a quote more than desk count does. Two extra cubicles change the hours more than twenty extra desks.
Priced separately
| Extra | Typical cost |
|---|---|
| Office cleaning, per hour | £15 to £28 |
| Carpet deep clean | £1.50 to £3.50 per m² |
| Hard floor strip and reseal | £3 to £7 per m² |
| Washroom deep clean and descale | £150 to £400 |
These are typical Nottingham market ranges, not our price list. We quote a fixed price in writing for your property before anything starts, because a number produced from a bedroom count alone has priced an average property rather than yours. The figures above come from our own UK cost research, set out in full in this guide.

We are a treatment room in the front of a house. Is that domestic or commercial to you?
Commercial, and it matters for more than the paperwork. A room the public sits in needs a written specification, a recorded frequency for the soft furnishings and the floor, and the products and method sheets kept where you can produce them. Insurers and inspectors ask for that and a domestic arrangement does not produce it. The clean itself is not much different from a thorough domestic one. What is different is that it is documented.
When can you actually get in, given there is a flat above?
Early, and quietly. The stair to the flat comes off the same space we are cleaning, so a machine at six in the morning is not welcome and a vacuum against a party wall carries further here than in a detached building. We work before opening with the quiet tasks first and the floor machine last, once the household above is likely to be up. If the tenancy upstairs changes, tell us, because the arrangement usually needs agreeing again.
We share a bin store with the flat above us. How should that be split?
In writing, before it becomes an argument. The business waste needs to be separated at source and handled under your carrier arrangement, and the household waste stays with the household collection. In practice that means two clearly labelled containers and an agreement about who wheels what out on which day. We can do the presentation and the return as a line in the specification, but the paperwork and the carrier stay in your name because the responsibility does.
Do we need to give you a cupboard and a sink on site?
A lockable cupboard, ideally yes, even a small one, because it means chemicals are stored away from the public and we are not carrying everything in and out each visit. A dedicated sink is a nice thing and most of these units do not have one, so we work from a kitchen tap in the back room and we do not empty dirty water into a food preparation sink. If neither exists, say so at the survey and we bring what we need instead.
Do you cover the whole of Lady Bay?
Yes, all of NG2 and the surrounding streets, under Rushcliffe Borough Council. We are based in New Basford, NG7, and there is no travel charge to any part of our area.
How much does office & commercial cleaning cost in Lady Bay?
The same as anywhere else on our patch, because we do not price by postcode. What moves the number for this service is the number of washrooms, the visit frequency, the flooring type and whether we supply consumables. Tell us that and you get a fixed price in writing rather than a range.
How soon can you start office & commercial cleaning in Lady Bay?
Allow four to six weeks if you are changing contractor, because TUPE, keys and site induction all take real time. One way in over the bridge and a grid that leads nowhere else, so the streets stay quiet and a space is usually there, and we group Lady Bay with West Bridgford, The Meadows and Sneinton on the rota.
