Our vacuum keeps clogging and there is always fine lint in the carpet. Is that the house or us?
If anyone in the household works with fabric, or the room was used for that before you moved in, it is neither. Textile lint is fibrous rather than granular, so it winds round a brush bar and blinds a filter instead of dropping into the bag. It wants a machine emptied more often than the manual suggests, and the bar checked and cut clear. Staples and tacks in the pile come out by hand before anything else runs over them.
