Office & Commercial Cleaning for Long Eaton homes
Showrooms on the main roads, workshop units off the back lanes, and small suites on the upper storeys of the shopping streets. Three different specifications on one round, and the showroom is the one where the stock matters more than the floor.
Three kinds of commercial premises sit within a mile of each other here, and they want three different specifications. Furniture showrooms on the main roads, where the goods standing on the floor are worth more than the building and nothing wet may go near them. Workshop and trade units behind, which are workplaces with a hard floor, a staff washroom and airborne dust off whatever is being made. And small suites on the upper storeys of the shopping streets, which are offices in the ordinary sense but sit in buildings never designed to be cleaned, with the stock room of a shop underneath and one staircase serving both. We write the specification from the building and the trade rather than from a floor area.
Long Eaton sits in NG10, under Erewash Borough Council. On the practical side: Town centre premises are reached off the back service lanes rather than the shop front, and loading restrictions set the timing there. In the terraced streets parking is on street and tight, and the passage between pairs of houses is usually the practical way in.
What we run into on Long Eaton office & commercial cleaning jobs
Showrooms are their own problem. The stock is upholstered, it stands uncovered under display lighting for months at a time, and airborne dust settles into a pale fabric and greys it evenly rather than marking it, so nobody notices until a piece is moved and the outline underneath shows. Nothing wet goes near goods that are for sale. It is a dry upholstery tool worked in one direction, with the machine emptied often enough that it is not blowing fine dust straight back out at the next piece along. The glass matters as much, because a showroom is lit to be looked into after dark.
How a Long Eaton office & commercial cleaning job actually runs
Almost all of this work happens when the premises are shut, which makes access the first thing we agree and the thing most likely to go wrong. Keys, an alarm code, who is called if the alarm activates, and what happens to that code when a member of your staff leaves. Small units here rarely have anywhere to keep equipment, no cleaner's cupboard, no sluice and often no outside tap, so we work from what comes in the van and take waste water away rather than tipping it into a car park drain. Bins are the other recurring item, since a parade of units usually shares one rear yard, and business waste is not household waste and cannot go into a domestic bin however convenient that is. Lone working matters too on a back service road after dark: our cleaners check in and check out of a visit, and we would rather have a working light over the rear door than a torch. All of that gets written down before a first clean, not discovered during one.
Who books it here
The local reference points are West Park, the Market Place and High Street shops, the station and Trent College, which is usually enough for us to find a property without a postcode lookup.
We run Long Eaton on the same round as Sandiacre, Toton and Attenborough.
What we check on every Long Eaton job
Barrier matting is where a specification is won or lost in any unit fronting a car park or a pavement. Grit is abrasive and, once it is past the door, it goes into the floor rather than sitting on top of it. A small mat inside the entrance does very little. What works is a run long enough that both feet land on it more than once. Where there is none, a vinyl safety floor takes the punishment, because the same grain that stops people slipping also traps soil, and once it is loaded the floor reads as permanently grey no matter how often somebody mops it. Mopping alone burnishes the dirt in. Recovering it needs a scrub with an appropriate pad, a rinse and a proper lift of the dirty solution, then a routine that keeps grit at the door instead of pulling it out of the floor every week.
What the office & commercial cleaning covers
A sample of what is included
- Periodic, scheduled and priced up front: High level dusting including light fittings and vents
- Every visit: Washrooms cleaned and consumables restocked
- Weekly or fortnightly: Skirting boards
- Periodic, scheduled and priced up front: Hard floor machine scrub, strip and reseal
That is a sample rather than the whole list. The full office & commercial cleaning page sets out every section of the scope, what is deliberately excluded and why, how long it takes on each property size, and what tends to go wrong.
What office & commercial cleaning costs in Long Eaton
Contract office cleaning, weekly cost on a standard specification out of hours. Our own cost research puts the Midlands at around the UK average to 10% below it, so Nottingham sits in the lower half of every range on this page.
£60 to £120
Typical per week in Long Eaton. A written fixed price for your property takes about a minute: ask for one.
| Property | Typical per week |
|---|---|
| Up to 10 desks, 2 to 3 visits | £60 to £120 |
| 10 to 25 desks, 3 to 5 visits | £120 to £280 |
| 25 to 50 desks, 5 visits | £280 to £520 |
| 50 to 100 desks, 5 visits | £520 to £950 |
| 100+ desks | £950 and up |
Washroom count moves a quote more than desk count does. Two extra cubicles change the hours more than twenty extra desks.
Priced separately
| Extra | Typical cost |
|---|---|
| Office cleaning, per hour | £15 to £28 |
| Carpet deep clean | £1.50 to £3.50 per m² |
| Hard floor strip and reseal | £3 to £7 per m² |
| Washroom deep clean and descale | £150 to £400 |
These are typical Nottingham market ranges, not our price list. We quote a fixed price in writing for your property before anything starts, because a number produced from a bedroom count alone has priced an average property rather than yours. The figures above come from our own UK cost research, set out in full in this guide.

There are only five of us above the shop. Do the washroom rules still apply?
They do. The workplace regulations do not have a headcount threshold, so a five person office over a shop owes its staff the same suitable washing facilities and the same sufficiently clean workplace as a floor of fifty. What changes is how it gets delivered. A single WC shared with the unit below needs a stated frequency and a named person responsible, and consumables need a stock check in the visit rather than left to whoever notices the dispenser is empty.
Our unit is in one of the old mill buildings. What does that change?
The floor and the dust. Original timber floors in those buildings are boards over joists with gaps between them, so grit works down into the joins and a wet mop pushes it further in rather than lifting it out, which means vacuuming properly comes first every time. The structure itself sheds: exposed brick, old timber and open services drop a fine dust continuously, so high level work goes on a stated frequency instead of being left until somebody complains.
We have nowhere to store cleaning equipment. Is that a problem?
Not for us. We arrive with what the visit needs and take it away again, which suits small suites and units where a cupboard would mean losing usable space. It does change two things worth agreeing early. Consumables such as hand towels and soap need somewhere to be stocked, even if that is a single lockable cupboard, and if you want anything specific kept on site for your own staff to use between visits, say so and it gets listed.
Who is responsible for the office waste?
You are, as the business producing it, and that duty does not transfer to us by us emptying the bins. Waste from a commercial premises has to go to a licensed carrier under a proper transfer arrangement, and it cannot legally be put out with the household collections at the back of a parade. What we do is collect it internally, bag it and place it wherever your own arrangement requires. If you do not yet have one in place, that is worth sorting before the first clean.
Do you cover the whole of Long Eaton?
Yes, all of NG10 and the surrounding streets, under Erewash Borough Council. We are based in New Basford, NG7, and there is no travel charge to any part of our area.
How much does office & commercial cleaning cost in Long Eaton?
The same as anywhere else on our patch, because we do not price by postcode. What moves the number for this service is the number of washrooms, the visit frequency, the flooring type and whether we supply consumables. Tell us that and you get a fixed price in writing rather than a range.
How soon can you start office & commercial cleaning in Long Eaton?
Allow four to six weeks if you are changing contractor, because TUPE, keys and site induction all take real time. Town centre premises are reached off the back service lanes rather than the shop front, and loading restrictions set the timing there, and we group Long Eaton with Sandiacre, Toton and Attenborough on the rota.
