Deep Cleaning for Long Eaton homes
Solid walled terraces with high ceilings, deep skirting and a narrow back addition holding the kitchen. The mill conversion flats are the opposite job: exposed brick, steel beams and ductwork at ceiling height, all of it a dust ledge nobody can reach from the floor.
Two very different deep cleans go under one heading in this town. In the terraces it is a solid walled house with hard plaster, a back addition and a great deal of painted timber, and the reset is the ordinary annual one done thoroughly. In the mill conversions it is a different building altogether. Those floors were left open when they were converted, so the brick is bare, the beams and the ductwork are on show, and the flat has ledges at three metres that nobody has ever been up to. Bare brick cannot be wiped either, because a wet cloth turns the dust sitting in the mortar joints into a smear that dries lighter than the brick around it. It has to come off dry, with a brush and suction behind it.
Long Eaton sits in NG10, under Erewash Borough Council. The housing here is mostly long rows of late Victorian terraces put up for the lace and furniture workforce, interwar and postwar semis on the edges, and apartments carved out of former mill floors near the centre, and that is what shapes this job more than the floor area does.
What we run into on Long Eaton deep cleaning jobs
Kitchens in a converted floor usually run along one wall with nothing above the units and no cupboard tops to hide anything, so grease that would normally collect out of sight lands instead on open shelving, on the brick behind the hob and on the underside of a steel beam a couple of metres up. It never looks greasy, because brick absorbs it rather than shining. Draw a finger along the beam and the difference is obvious. That surface gets a degreaser applied to the cloth rather than sprayed, since anything atomised at that height falls straight back down onto everything underneath it.
How a Long Eaton deep cleaning job actually runs
A deep clean is a day given over to the house, and in a terrace that is a practical problem before it is a cleaning one. There is no spare room to stage furniture into, no garage and often no landing wide enough to stand a wardrobe on, so the work runs room by room from the top down and everything comes back before the next room opens. We need water, a working socket in most rooms and somewhere the machines can sit without blocking the only staircase. In winter the heating needs to be on, not because we are cold but because nothing dries in a solid walled house with the windows shut and no through draught. Booking clusters here in the weeks before Christmas and around moving dates, so those fill early. Everything else is easier to place. If the property is furnished and lived in we will ask you to clear the tops of things beforehand, because time spent moving ornaments is time not spent cleaning behind them.
Who books it here
This is a town rather than a village, and it has the commercial stock to prove it: a high street of shops with offices and flats above them, workshop units behind, and furniture showrooms along the main roads. Commercial work here is a real part of the week, not an occasional extra.
We run Long Eaton on the same round as Sandiacre, Toton and Attenborough.
What we check on every Long Eaton job
Everything in a bathroom here is losing an argument with the water supply, which is hard in this part of the country. It shows first as a rough grey haze across a shower screen that reads as dirty glass but is mineral bonded to the surface. Scrubbing achieves almost nothing, and a scouring pad puts fine scratches into the screen which then hold scale faster than the smooth glass did. What it wants is an acidic descaler with real dwell time, worked from the bottom upwards so the runs do not streak, then rinsed off completely, since anything acidic left sitting on chrome or on a resin tray will dull the finish permanently. The same deposit collects under the base of a tap where a cloth never reaches, as a hard ring at the water line inside a WC, and inside the shower head, where it closes off individual jets and throws the spray sideways.
What the deep cleaning covers
A sample of what is included
- Bathrooms: Extractor vent, cabinet interiors, mirrors and chrome
- Bathrooms: Limescale removed from taps, shower head, screen, tiles and grout
- Kitchen, which is about 40% of the time: Fridge and freezer emptied, defrosted and washed including the seals
- Kitchen, which is about 40% of the time: Oven interior, racks, side runners, door glass and grill pan
That is a sample rather than the whole list. The full deep cleaning page sets out every section of the scope, what is deliberately excluded and why, how long it takes on each property size, and what tends to go wrong.
The cleaner who comes to your Long Eaton property is directly employed and vetted by us rather than subcontracted, and the questions that come up before a first booking are answered on the FAQ page. If you are not certain this is the right service, the services hub compares all 14.
What deep cleaning costs in Long Eaton
A one-off deep clean, priced as a job rather than by the hour. Our own cost research puts the Midlands at around the UK average to 10% below it, so Nottingham sits in the lower half of every range on this page.

Typical one-off in Long Eaton. A written fixed price for your property takes about a minute: ask for one.

| 1 bedroom | £135 to £220 |
| 2 bedrooms | £165 to £280 |

Our cost research puts a one-off deep clean of a two to three bedroom home at £165 to £350, which is the anchor the rest of this table is built around.
Priced separately
| Extra | Typical cost |
|---|---|
| Single oven deep clean | £45 to £80 |
| Double oven | £70 to £110 |
| Range cooker | £80 to £130 |
These are typical Nottingham market ranges, not our price list. We quote a fixed price in writing for your property before anything starts, because a number produced from a bedroom count alone has priced an average property rather than yours. The figures above come from our own UK cost research, set out in full in this guide.
Can the exposed brick in our flat actually be cleaned?
It can be cleaned, and it cannot be washed. Dust settles into the mortar joints and into the brick face itself, and water turns that into a slurry which dries as a pale bloom you then cannot get out. The method is dry: a soft brush worked over the face with the suction hose following it, joint by joint, taking cobweb and dust off rather than scrubbing at the surface. Marks soaked into brick are usually permanent, and we will say so.
The beams and pipework are three metres up. Do you reach them?
From the floor, with extension poles and microfibre heads, and with the dust brought down before anything else in the room is touched. Working above a small step ladder is outside what our cleaners do, for safety and insurance reasons rather than preference, so anything genuinely out of pole reach gets flagged rather than attempted. In practice a pole reaches most exposed services in a converted floor, and the order of work matters more than the height does.
How long does a deep clean take, and do we have to be out of the house?
Most take a full day, and a larger or long neglected property can run into a second. You do not have to be out, but the work moves through the whole house and rooms come out of use for a while, so people often find it easier to be elsewhere for the bulk of it. What does help is being reachable, because a deep clean turns up decisions that are yours to make about what stays, what gets moved and what is beyond cleaning.
What will a deep clean not fix?
Damage, as opposed to dirt. Enamel that has been etched by an acidic product used too strong, a shower screen already scratched, worn lacquer on taps, silicone that has gone black through the depth rather than on the face, and heat marks in a worktop are all past cleaning. Silicone can be cut out and replaced, which is a separate job. We would rather point those out at the start than have you expect them to disappear and be disappointed at the end.
Do you cover the whole of Long Eaton?
Yes, all of NG10 and the surrounding streets, under Erewash Borough Council. We are based in New Basford, NG7, and there is no travel charge to any part of our area.
How much does deep cleaning cost in Long Eaton?
The same as anywhere else on our patch, because we do not price by postcode. What moves the number for this service is how long it has been since the last one, the state of the oven, and how many bathrooms need descaling. Tell us that and you get a fixed price in writing rather than a range.
How soon can you start deep cleaning in Long Eaton?
Within a week or two normally, longer in March and April and through November when everyone books at once. Town centre premises are reached off the back service lanes rather than the shop front, and loading restrictions set the timing there, and we group Long Eaton with Sandiacre, Toton and Attenborough on the rota.
