Deep Cleaning for Cinderhill homes

Booked most often on a house too young for anyone to expect it needs one. The plinths under a modern kitchen clip out, and the void behind them runs the length of the run with the appliance feet standing in it.

Most deep cleans here are booked on houses too young for anyone to think they need one. A property built in the last decade has none of the classic slow jobs: no picture rails, no coving, no cellar, no chimney breast, and windows that open. What it has instead is a set of sealed voids that came with the fittings and have never been opened. The plinth line under the kitchen units. The panel on the side of the bath. The tray riser under a shower enclosure. The tracks a sliding wardrobe runs in. None of those are reachable in a regular visit and none of them announce themselves, so the house looks fine and the deep clean still takes the hours a much older property would. The older streets, by contrast, deep clean the way any settled house does.

Cinderhill sits in NG6, under Nottingham City Council. The housing here is mostly older terraces and interwar semis from the years the pit was working, with estates of newer houses, three storey townhouses and small closes built across the reclaimed colliery ground behind them, and that is what shapes this job more than the floor area does.

What we run into on Cinderhill deep cleaning jobs

The kitchen plinth is the one worth knowing about. On a fitted kitchen it is a separate board held on clips, it comes away with a firm pull at the top, and behind it is an open channel running the length of the units with the appliance feet standing in it. What collects down there is dry: flour, rice, bottle caps, cat biscuits, a fork. It also shows up a slow weep from a washing machine or dishwasher fitting long before anything reaches the floor you can see, because the board hides a damp patch until it has been damp for a year. We take the plinths off, clear and dry the channel and clip them back.

How a Cinderhill deep cleaning job actually runs

A deep clean needs the house rather than a slot in it, and that is the scheduling conversation here more than anywhere. It runs most of a day, it needs the hot water and the power on, and it wants the rooms free enough that furniture can be pulled out and put back. In the townhouses with the garage underneath there is an easy answer: the garage takes the kit and takes whatever comes out of a room while it is being worked on, which saves carrying everything back up the stairs twice. In the older houses there is usually no such space, so we agree an order instead and finish one floor before opening the next, and you keep the use of a kitchen and a bathroom throughout. Booking sensibly matters as well. A deep clean before a party is the wrong way round, because it is the reset you build on rather than the polish you finish with. The week a room is being emptied or a carpet is due is the right one.

Who books it here

Two generations of housing sit a few hundred yards apart, and the ground under the newer half was a working pit. Reclaimed land means shale and clinker are rarely far under the turf, so what walks into a house off it is angular black grit rather than garden soil.

We run Cinderhill on the same round as Old Basford, Aspley and Highbury Vale.

What we check on every Cinderhill job

Radiators take more of a deep clean than anyone expects in these houses. A modern panel radiator is a convector: two skins with a folded fin pack welded between them and a slotted grille along the top, and it works by drawing room air up through itself all winter. What it collects settles down inside where a duster has no route, and by spring it is not loose fluff any more. It is a matted felt bound together with cooking film. The tell is on the wall above it, a soft dark band rising from the grille, worst over the hall radiator and the one on the landing where the air moves most. Lifting the top grille off, working a long brush down between the fins and drawing the loosened material out from underneath takes that band away and stops it returning, which repainting the wall on its own never does.

What the deep cleaning covers

A sample of what is included

  • Kitchen, which is about 40% of the time: Fridge and freezer emptied, defrosted and washed including the seals
  • Kitchen, which is about 40% of the time: Dishwasher filter and spray arms
  • Bathrooms: Limescale removed from taps, shower head, screen, tiles and grout
  • Bathrooms: Grout scrubbed and mouldy sealant identified

That is a sample rather than the whole list. The full deep cleaning page sets out every section of the scope, what is deliberately excluded and why, how long it takes on each property size, and what tends to go wrong.

The cleaner who comes to your Cinderhill property is directly employed and vetted by us rather than subcontracted, and the questions that come up before a first booking are answered on the FAQ page. If you are not certain this is the right service, the services hub compares all 14.

What deep cleaning costs in Cinderhill

A one-off deep clean, priced as a job rather than by the hour. Our own cost research puts the Midlands at around the UK average to 10% below it, so Nottingham sits in the lower half of every range on this page.

£165 to £280

Typical one-off in Cinderhill. A written fixed price for your property takes about a minute: ask for one.

PropertyTypical one-off
Studio£110 to £180
1 bedroom£135 to £220
2 bedrooms£165 to £280
3 bedrooms£220 to £350
4 bedrooms£300 to £460

Our cost research puts a one-off deep clean of a two to three bedroom home at £165 to £350, which is the anchor the rest of this table is built around.

Priced separately

ExtraTypical cost
Single oven deep clean£45 to £80
Double oven£70 to £110
Range cooker£80 to £130

These are typical Nottingham market ranges, not our price list. We quote a fixed price in writing for your property before anything starts, because a number produced from a bedroom count alone has priced an average property rather than yours. The house is only a few years old. What is there to deep clean?

Everything that is behind a panel or a filter, which in a modern house is a lot. Extractor ducting, the shower waste trap under a low tray, the void behind the bath panel, the plinth channel, the drawer and seal on a washing machine hidden behind a cupboard door, and the grout, which is new enough that it can still be brought back rather than replaced. A house that started clean and was never reset is not the same as a clean house.

Can you take the kitchen plinths off?

Yes, and we would rather do it than mop up to the edge and leave a gap nobody has seen since the kitchen went in. They are clipped, not screwed, so they come out and go back without marking anything. If yours are scribed to an uneven floor or held with sealant we will say so and leave them, because forcing one splits the board and it is not a repair worth causing.

Do we need to be out of the house for the day?

No, though it is easier for everybody if the rooms are. We work floor by floor and tell you which room is coming next so you can move ahead of us rather than behind us. What does help is deciding beforehand what happens to anything we find behind or under something, because a deep clean turns up belongings and the decisions eat time. Clear what you can from surfaces and from the floor of a wardrobe, and the rest is ours.

Can it be split over two visits instead?

Yes, and for a three storey house it is often the better shape. Splitting by floor works far better than splitting by task, because the kit gets set up once per floor and moving it is the expensive part. The usual division is kitchen and ground floor on one visit, bathrooms and bedrooms on the other. What we would avoid is a gap of months between the two halves, since the first half starts drifting back before the second is done.

Do you cover the whole of Cinderhill?

Yes, all of NG6 and the surrounding streets, under Nottingham City Council. We are based in New Basford, NG7, and there is no travel charge to any part of our area.

How much does deep cleaning cost in Cinderhill?

The same as anywhere else on our patch, because we do not price by postcode. What moves the number for this service is how long it has been since the last one, the state of the oven, and how many bathrooms need descaling. Tell us that and you get a fixed price in writing rather than a range.

How soon can you start deep cleaning in Cinderhill?

Within a week or two normally, longer in March and April and through November when everyone books at once. Drives and allocated bays on the newer estates and on-street on the older roads, so parking is rarely the problem, and we group Cinderhill with Old Basford, Aspley and Highbury Vale on the rota.
