Domestic Cleaning for Rise Park homes
Fortnightly visits in owner occupied houses with somebody usually at home, which changes the order of the day more than the room count does. The work sits in the reach jobs and the build up rather than in anything visible from the doorway.
Most of the regular work here is fortnightly and most of it is attended, because a good number of these households are retired, part retired or working from a room at the front of the house. That changes how a visit gets agreed rather than how it gets done. Where nothing is visibly wrong, the scope has to be settled at the start, or three hours goes on surfaces somebody already wipes every day and the things they actually rang about never get reached. So the first conversation is about what has stopped being practical rather than what looks dirty: inside the oven, the tops of the fitted wardrobes, behind the toilet, the bath panel, the glass above the front door. Small houses, short room lists, and a longer list of awkward items than the size suggests.
Rise Park sits in NG5, under Nottingham City Council. Regular domestic cleaning is the bulk of it, mostly fortnightly and mostly attended, since many of these households are retired or working from a converted garage. Deep cleans get booked to a date, a family event or a sale, rather than to a backlog. Window cleaning is third, where exposure rather than dirt sets the rota.
What we run into on Rise Park domestic cleaning jobs
Extract fans are the item that fails without anybody noticing in a house like this. The bathroom has one ducted through the outside wall, the en suite where one has been added usually has a second, and both have a grille that felts up with lint until the fan is turning against a blocked face. Nothing looks wrong and the room simply stops drying, which is why the sealant blackens in a bathroom that gets cleaned every week. The grille comes off, gets washed and goes back. If the fan sounds like it is moving nothing at all we say so, because that is an electrician rather than us.
How a Rise Park domestic cleaning job actually runs
Access here is easier than anywhere in the inner city and it still wants agreeing in advance. Every house has its own drive, so a van has somewhere to sit, but on a short close a drive with cars already on it means parking on the turning head, which blocks the people who live around it. We ask where to put the van at the booking stage and then stick to it. Keys are the other thing to settle. Where nobody is in, a key safe fixed near the front door is the practical answer, and on an open frontage with no gate, wall or porch to hide it, the position wants some thought rather than the first brick that comes to hand. Inside, we bring our own machine and our own cloths, because a household vacuum on a stair run is a different tool from a commercial one, and because cross contamination between houses is avoided by carrying colour coded cloths rather than by borrowing yours. We need a socket, a tap and somewhere to empty a bucket, and none of that is a problem in a kitchen of this size.
Who books it here
On the practical side: Every house has a drive and the frontages are open, so a van parks without blocking anyone. The pinch is the side passage: a gate, the bins and about the width of one person, and it is the only way to the back.
We run Rise Park on the same round as Top Valley, Bestwood and Arnold.
What we check on every Rise Park job
Radiators leave a mark on the wall above them and almost nobody connects the two. Warm air rises off the panel carrying whatever dust is in the room, hits the wall and drops it, so a faint dark plume builds above every radiator and a heavier one over those in rooms with a carpet and a busy door. On magnolia emulsion it reads as shadow rather than dirt, which is why it gets left. It comes off with a dry sponge worked downward before anything wet goes near it, because a wet cloth on chalky emulsion smears the mark into the paint and polishes a patch that then looks different from the wall around it. The same plume shows above the boiler cupboard vent and around ceiling light fittings. On a smooth finished ceiling it lifts. On an artexed one it does not, and we say so rather than scrub at it.
What the domestic cleaning covers
A sample of what is included
- Kitchen: Worktops wiped and disinfected
- Kitchen: Floor swept and mopped
- Bathrooms: Floor cleaned
- Bedrooms and living areas: Visible clutter tidied into sensible places
That is a sample rather than the whole list. The full domestic cleaning page sets out every section of the scope, what is deliberately excluded and why, how long it takes on each property size, and what tends to go wrong.
What domestic cleaning costs in Rise Park
Regular domestic cleaning, per visit, at a typical company rate. Our own cost research puts the Midlands at around the UK average to 10% below it, so Nottingham sits in the lower half of every range on this page.
£50 to £70
Typical per visit in Rise Park. A written fixed price for your property takes about a minute: ask for one.

Priced separately
| Extra | Typical cost |
|---|---|
| Regular domestic, per hour | £17 to £25 |
| Ironing, per hour | £14 to £20 |
These are typical Nottingham market ranges, not our price list. We quote a fixed price in writing for your property before anything starts, because a number produced from a bedroom count alone has priced an average property rather than yours. The figures above come from our own UK cost research, set out in full in this guide.
I clean the house myself. What is actually left for you to do?
The things that want a ladder, a knee on the floor, or an hour with nobody else in the way. On this stock that means the oven and its door glass, the tops of the fitted wardrobes, the inside of the shower screen, behind and under the toilet, and the skirting run behind furniture. Underneath all that there is usually a layer of old polish and mop residue to take off once. Regular visits after that are maintenance rather than recovery.
We are normally in when you come. Does that get in the way?
Not if we agree the order at the start. We work room by room and around you rather than starting at the front and pushing through, so wherever you have settled gets done last. What does need saying honestly is drying time. A mopped floor and a washed bathroom want twenty minutes without traffic, and a house with everybody home is exactly where that gets forgotten. Dogs and a machine due to finish are worth mentioning too.
Do we need to be in when you come?
No, and plenty of regular visits here run better when nobody is. Where you are out we work from a key safe or a key held to an agreed arrangement, with the code changed on request and a record of who attended. What we do need is a way of reaching you if something is wrong: a leak under the sink, a fridge door left standing open, a window that will not shut. We lock up, set the alarm where you have shown us how, and put the key back.
Can you use the products we already have in the house?
Yes, and a fair few households here prefer it. Leave out whatever you want used and that is what gets used. What we will not do is mix products, or put something on a surface it will damage, so a bleach based cleaner stays away from shower screen seals and anything acidic stays off stone worktops. If nobody minds either way we bring our own, which keeps the van stocked and means a visit is never lost because a bottle ran out halfway through.
Do you cover the whole of Rise Park?
Yes, all of NG5 and the surrounding streets, under Nottingham City Council. We are based in New Basford, NG7, and there is no travel charge to any part of our area.
How much does domestic cleaning cost in Rise Park?
The same as anywhere else on our patch, because we do not price by postcode. What moves the number for this service is the bathroom count more than the bedroom count, how often we come, and whether there are pets. Tell us that and you get a fixed price in writing rather than a range.
How soon can you start domestic cleaning in Rise Park?
Usually within a week for a regular rota, and we will tell you the day rather than a window. Every house has a drive and the frontages are open, so a van parks without blocking anyone, and we group Rise Park with Top Valley, Bestwood and Arnold on the rota.
