After Builders Cleaning for Rise Park homes
Trussed roofs make loft conversions expensive here, so the work is usually a kitchen or bathroom refit instead. That puts the rip out upstairs and makes a fully carpeted staircase the haul route for every bag of old tile and adhesive.
Building work on this stock is refitting rather than extending. The houses were built with the rooms people wanted and the roofs are modern trussed ones, which makes a loft conversion a structural job rather than a weekend, so what actually happens is a new kitchen, a new bathroom, an en suite squeezed into the corner of a bedroom, or the original conservatory taken off and replaced with something that has a solid roof. That is a different clean from an extension. The mess is upstairs as often as down, there is no new opening in the back wall for dust to leave by, and the household is living there throughout with one staircase serving everything. Sequence and protection matter more here than the size of the job suggests.
Rise Park sits in NG5, under Nottingham City Council. Houses are private built, owner occupied and generally well kept, so a first visit is rarely a rescue. What we are called in for is reach and time rather than neglect, and the annual work is as much about removing years of polish, mop shine and soap film as removing dirt.
What we run into on Rise Park after builders cleaning jobs
Rip out dust is not plasterboard dust and it does not behave like it. Old wall tiles come away with the plaster face still attached, and what that leaves is a heavy gritty mix of tile shards, cement adhesive and sand which drops straight down instead of drifting, and then gets walked. In a house carpeted from the stairs to the landing, that staircase is the only route out for every bag of it. Protecting the run properly and cleaning it as a stage rather than at the end is what stops grit being ground into the pile for a fortnight. Adhesive left on the floor under the old tiles is a scraping job, not a mopping one.
How a Rise Park after builders cleaning job actually runs
Waste and water decide how a builders clean actually runs. A skip or a grab bag on your own drive needs no permit, which is the clear advantage this estate has over a terraced street, but a loaded skip standing on block paving presses into it and leaves a rutted patch that stays, so boards under the feet are worth insisting on before it is dropped. Whatever the builder has not taken away is still sitting there on the day we arrive, and bagged rubble is not a cleaning job, so whose it is wants settling in advance rather than on the drive. Water and power are the other question. On a kitchen or bathroom refit the supply is often still isolated when the trades finish, and a clean with no hot water and no working sink is half a clean. Ask for the isolation to come off before we come. Last, book us after the snagging visit rather than before, because a fitter returning to adjust a door or swap a handle puts dust down all over again.
Who books it here
The local reference points are Rise Park Primary and Nursery School, the shopping parade and the open ground beyond, which is usually enough for us to find a property without a postcode lookup.
We run Rise Park on the same round as Top Valley, Bestwood and Arnold.
What we check on every Rise Park job
Paint on plastic is the job nobody quotes for. Emulsion spatter dries onto uPVC window boards, frames and the inside face of the front door, and on a satin plastic surface it settles into the grain rather than sitting on top, so it comes off with a plastic blade and patience rather than a scourer, which leaves a dull patch worse than the spot was. Silicone is the second one. A bead run by hand smears tiles and glass in a way that is invisible until light comes across the surface, and once cured it will not dissolve, so it has to be pared off. Plaster is the third. Splashes drop into the drainage slots along the bottom of a window frame and set there, and a blocked slot means water sits in the frame instead of leaving it. We poke those clear and peel any protective film still on new radiators and units.
What the after builders cleaning covers
A sample of what is included
- Stage two, the detail clean: Sanitaryware descaled and polished
- Stage two, the detail clean: Inside all new units, cupboards and wardrobes
- Stage one, the rough clean: Paint, plaster, grout and adhesive from glass, tiles and hardware
- Stage three, the final buff: Filters changed in extractors and ventilation that have been pulling dust for weeks
That is a sample rather than the whole list. The full after builders cleaning page sets out every section of the scope, what is deliberately excluded and why, how long it takes on each property size, and what tends to go wrong.
What after builders cleaning costs in Rise Park
Priced by surface area and dust load rather than bedroom count, across all stages. Our own cost research puts the Midlands at around the UK average to 10% below it, so Nottingham sits in the lower half of every range on this page.
£180 to £350
Typical per project in Rise Park. A written fixed price for your property takes about a minute: ask for one.
| Property | Typical per project |
|---|---|
| Single room refurbishment | £180 to £350 |
| Kitchen or bathroom fit-out | £250 to £450 |
| Loft conversion | £350 to £600 |
| Extension, 2 to 3 rooms | £500 to £900 |
| Whole house renovation | Quoted after a site visit |
Three things explain most of the gap between two builders clean quotes: whether all stages are included, whether window exteriors are covered, and who removes the waste.
Priced separately
| Extra | Typical cost |
|---|---|
| Exterior windows | £30 to £90 |
| Carpet cleaning, per room | £35 to £60 |
These are typical Nottingham market ranges, not our price list. We quote a fixed price in writing for your property before anything starts, because a number produced from a bedroom count alone has priced an average property rather than yours. The figures above come from our own UK cost research, set out in full in this guide.

Only the bathroom is being done. Why would the whole house need cleaning?
It would not, and we would rather clean the route than sell you the house. What needs doing is the room itself, the landing outside it, the staircase every load came down and the hall at the bottom, because that is where the dust went. If the bathroom door stood open through the work, the nearest bedroom is worth checking too. A visit shaped like that is short, and it is best timed for after the fitter has been back for snagging.
The builders hoovered up. Is anything left to do?
Usually the fine end of it. A site vacuum takes the debris and plenty of trades sweep well, but tile grit works down into carpet pile rather than sitting on top of it, adhesive residue needs scraping off the floor, and a film reappears a day or two later once the dust still hanging in the air has settled. Ask what their clean covers. Bagging waste and sweeping through is genuinely useful, and it is a different piece of work from this one.
Will you take the rubble and the old kitchen away?
No, and it is worth knowing that before the day. Carrying away construction waste needs a waste carrier licence and a paper trail for where it went, which is a different trade from cleaning. What we do is bag the loose debris left indoors and put it wherever your skip or collection is, so the rooms are clear to work in. Get the removal of the heavy waste written into the builder's price, because it is far cheaper agreed at the start.
There are paint specks all over the new window frames. Do they come off?
Emulsion and most water based paint do, worked with a plastic blade and a little heat from the room rather than a chemical. Gloss and masonry paint are harder and sometimes leave a shadow in the plastic grain. What we will not use is a scouring pad or a solvent, because either one dulls the surface permanently and a dull patch catches the eye far more than a speck does. Tell us before we start if a frame is already scratched.
Do you cover the whole of Rise Park?
Yes, all of NG5 and the surrounding streets, under Nottingham City Council. We are based in New Basford, NG7, and there is no travel charge to any part of our area.
How much does after builders cleaning cost in Rise Park?
The same as anywhere else on our patch, because we do not price by postcode. What moves the number for this service is the surface area and dust load, how many stages you need, and who is removing the waste. Tell us that and you get a fixed price in writing rather than a range.
How soon can you start after builders cleaning in Rise Park?
As soon as the last trade is off site, and we book all the stages up front rather than one at a time. Every house has a drive and the frontages are open, so a van parks without blocking anyone, and we group Rise Park with Top Valley, Bestwood and Arnold on the rota.
