There is black dust on my windowsill two days after you came. Why?
Almost certainly the chimney rather than the clean. An open flue behind a boarded fireplace pulls air constantly and drops soot into the room, and it shows first on pale sills and skirting. Wipe a little onto a damp white cloth: soot smears greasy and grey rather than lifting like ordinary dust. If it does that, the fix is at the chimney, not in the cleaning.
