Office & Commercial Cleaning for Forest Fields homes

Commercial premises here are converted houses and community rooms rather than office floors: one washroom, a domestic kitchen and a staircase built for a family. The specification has to name those rooms, and the hire diary decides when anyone can get in.

There is not much purpose built office space in Forest Fields, so commercial work here means premises that used to be something else. A letting agent or a small charity working out of a converted terrace, a room above a corner shop, a community room hired out by the hour to different groups through the week. They behave nothing like an office floor. There is one washroom for everybody, a domestic kitchen with a domestic sink, carpet on a staircase that was built for a family, and a front door opening onto the pavement. The specification has to say who cleans the kitchen crockery, when the room is empty enough to work in, and which evening the hired groups finish, because those three answers decide the whole contract.

Forest Fields sits in NG7, under Nottingham City Council. On the practical side: Parking is on-street with cars nose to tail both sides, and the shared back entries are often the easier way in with equipment. Goose Fair week closes the Forest and fills the streets around it, so we shift those bookings rather than arriving late.

What we run into on Forest Fields office & commercial cleaning jobs

Washrooms in these buildings were bathrooms, and it shows. A domestic basin with a mixer tap, a toilet in a corner with a boxed in cistern, no ventilation beyond a small extractor, and a floor of vinyl that stops short of the pipework. A room of people uses it all day, which is what a bathroom built for one household was never intended for, so the seal around the pan and the grout at floor level fail first. We put that on a schedule with a recorded product and contact time, and we agree who is buying soap and paper, because running out of both is the complaint that arrives before any question about the cleaning.

How a Forest Fields office & commercial cleaning job actually runs

Cleaning a small commercial site here nearly always happens outside working hours, and in a converted terrace that means a set of arrangements a purpose built office never needs. There is usually one key, one alarm panel by a front door that opens onto the pavement, and flats or a family above or next door, so a vacuum at ten at night is not an option no matter how empty the office is. We agree an early morning or an early evening slot, we agree who holds keys and who is on the alarm company's list, and we work to a lone working routine, which means someone knows the cleaner is in the building and knows when they came out. Storage is the other thing to settle, because these buildings have no cleaner's cupboard. Either stock lives in a locked corner you have given us or it travels in the van. Waste goes out through the same front door, so bin day and the bin store matter to the schedule. Everything that is agreed goes on the specification, and what is not on it is not being done.

Who books it here

The local reference points are the Forest Recreation Ground, Goose Fair week, the Forest tram stop and Gregory Boulevard, which is usually enough for us to find a property without a postcode lookup.

We run Forest Fields on the same round as Hyson Green, New Basford and Radford.

What we check on every Forest Fields job

Every visit follows the same written list, signed off so you can see it. Desks are done around what is left on them, and we do not move papers or clean a keyboard unless the specification says to. Touchpoints get the attention: door handles and push plates, the light switches by the stairs, the handrail, the front door glass and the letterbox, and the buttons on the kettle and the microwave in the kitchen. The kitchen sink, taps and drainer are done every visit, the fridge is checked and cleaned on the agreed interval, and we take out the recycling and the general waste to whichever bin the building uses. In the washroom we record stock levels for soap, paper and liners rather than waiting for it to run out. We note a propped fire door, a blown light or a mat curling at the entrance, and pass it on, because those are the things an inspection picks up.

What the office & commercial cleaning covers

A sample of what is included

  • Every visit: Washrooms cleaned and consumables restocked
  • Periodic, scheduled and priced up front: Carpet deep cleaning
  • Every visit: Floors vacuumed and hard floors mopped
  • Periodic, scheduled and priced up front: Internal and external window cleaning

That is a sample rather than the whole list. The full office & commercial cleaning page sets out every section of the scope, what is deliberately excluded and why, how long it takes on each property size, and what tends to go wrong.

What office & commercial cleaning costs in Forest Fields

Contract office cleaning, weekly cost on a standard specification out of hours. Our own cost research puts the Midlands at around the UK average to 10% below it, so Nottingham sits in the lower half of every range on this page.

£60 to £120

Typical per week in Forest Fields. A written fixed price for your property takes about a minute: ask for one.

PropertyTypical per week
Up to 10 desks, 2 to 3 visits£60 to £120
10 to 25 desks, 3 to 5 visits£120 to £280
25 to 50 desks, 5 visits£280 to £520
50 to 100 desks, 5 visits£520 to £950
100+ desks£950 and up

Washroom count moves a quote more than desk count does. Two extra cubicles change the hours more than twenty extra desks.

Priced separately

ExtraTypical cost
Office cleaning, per hour£15 to £28
Carpet deep clean£1.50 to £3.50 per m²
Hard floor strip and reseal£3 to £7 per m²
Washroom deep clean and descale£150 to £400

These are typical Nottingham market ranges, not our price list. We quote a fixed price in writing for your property before anything starts, because a number produced from a bedroom count alone has priced an average property rather than yours. The figures above come from our own UK cost research, set out in full in this guide.

Office & Commercial Cleaningin Forest Fields

Ring us on 07438 843980, or see the full service page.

We hire the hall out to different groups. When can you actually clean?

Whenever the diary has a genuine gap, and the diary is the thing to send us first. A room used by a toddler group in the morning and a class in the evening only has the middle of the day, and that is workable as long as it is the same days each week. What does not work is a schedule built on a booking pattern that changed two months ago, so tell us when the diary changes rather than after the complaint.

Our office is a converted house. Do you clean it like an office or a home?

Like an office, on a written specification, but with domestic fittings in mind. Carpeted stairs in a building that people walk up and down all day need vacuuming far more often than a home staircase, and a domestic boiler cupboard, a family kitchen and a single washroom all have to appear on the schedule by name. We also set out what is not included, so nobody assumes the cupboards or the fridge are being done weekly.

Who buys the soap, paper and bin liners?

Whichever way you prefer, as long as it is written down before the first visit. Some clients buy their own and keep a stock on site, which is cheaper and needs somewhere lockable to put it. Others ask us to supply and invoice for consumables as part of the contract. What causes complaints is neither party being clearly responsible, so we record stock levels on the sheet each visit and tell you when something is close to running out.

Do you keep keys and go on the alarm list?

Yes, where the client asks for it. Keys are held tagged without an address on them, the alarm code is held by the cleaner covering the site and by us, and we ask for it to be changed when a cleaner or a member of your staff leaves. We also need a contact who will answer the phone if the panel goes off out of hours. In a converted house sharing a wall with residents, a false alarm at six in the morning is worth planning against.

Do you cover the whole of Forest Fields?

Yes, all of NG7 and the surrounding streets, under Nottingham City Council. We are based in New Basford, NG7, and there is no travel charge to any part of our area.

How much does office & commercial cleaning cost in Forest Fields?

The same as anywhere else on our patch, because we do not price by postcode. What moves the number for this service is the number of washrooms, the visit frequency, the flooring type and whether we supply consumables. Tell us that and you get a fixed price in writing rather than a range.

How soon can you start office & commercial cleaning in Forest Fields?

Allow four to six weeks if you are changing contractor, because TUPE, keys and site induction all take real time. Parking is on-street with cars nose to tail both sides, and the shared back entries are often the easier way in with equipment, and we group Forest Fields with Hyson Green, New Basford and Radford on the rota.
