Office & Commercial Cleaning for Daybrook homes
Units on the estate behind the old brewery, converted offices in the building itself, and small premises along the main road. Workshop grit and a single hard-worked washroom carry more of the hours than desk count does.
Commercial work here is not office floors. It is the units on the estate around Sir John Robinson Way, converted offices in the old brewery building, and shops and first floor premises strung along the main road. A trade unit is really two jobs on one lease: a carpeted office of a few desks at the front, a workshop or store behind it on sealed concrete, and a doorway between them through which everything from the back arrives on the front carpet. The washroom usually carries more of the hours than the desks do, and it is where the contract gets judged. Timing is set by the road as much as by the business, since anything arriving after eight in the morning has queued on the A60 to get here.
Daybrook sits in NG5, under Gedling Borough Council. On the practical side: Most houses have a drive, though on the older pairs it is one narrow strip and usually already occupied. We park on the side streets rather than the A60, which has no legal space and a bus route running along it.
What we run into on Daybrook office & commercial cleaning jobs
That internal doorway deserves matting and a schedule rather than optimism. Tyre grit and brick dust off a workshop floor are abrasive, so once they are walked onto a contract carpet they cut the fibre rather than dirty it, and the traffic line goes threadbare before it goes grey. We machine scrub the hard side instead of mopping it, because a mop on sealed concrete moves the grit about and leaves a film that turns slippery as soon as it is wet. Washrooms in these units are frequently a single cubicle doing the work of four, and the floor around the pan is the line to specify explicitly.
How a Daybrook office & commercial cleaning job actually runs
The commercial cleaning we do along the parade is customer facing rather than back office. A salon, a food counter, a practice on the first floor with its own stair, a small agency behind a glass shopfront. What they share is that the public sees the cleaning before it sees anything else: the door, the mat, the front few metres of floor and the seating. They also share a working day that runs late, so the work happens after close or before open, through a street door that is sometimes shared with flats above. That has to be agreed with whoever else holds a key rather than assumed. Frequency is the honest conversation to have first. Some of these premises need someone in daily because of what lands on the floor during trading. Others are better served by three thorough visits a week with the washroom properly stocked in between. We would rather specify the smaller round and do it consistently than sell five nights of hurrying past the same corners.
Who books it here
The local reference points are the Home Brewery building, St Paul's church on Mansfield Road and Daybrook Square, which is usually enough for us to find a property without a postcode lookup.
We run Daybrook on the same round as Arnold, Woodthorpe and Sherwood.
What we check on every Daybrook job
The entrance mat is doing more work than anyone gives it credit for, and on a pavement frontage it saturates long before it looks full. Once it does, it stops holding grit and starts printing it back onto the floor two steps inside the door, which is exactly where customers look down. Matting on a parade needs lifting and cleaning underneath on a schedule, not just vacuuming on top. The glass door is the other one. Push plates and the area around the handle carry marks at two heights, adult and child, and they need a different cloth from the pane itself or the glass ends up smeared by the same pass that cleaned the metal. Seating is the third visible item. Fabric waiting chairs collect hand marks on the arm ends and hair against the back, and vinyl ones craze along the seam if a strong product is used on them week after week, so both go on a specified routine rather than a wipe when someone has time.
What the office & commercial cleaning covers
A sample of what is included
- Every visit: Washrooms cleaned and consumables restocked
- Every visit: Desks and hard surfaces, subject to a clear desk policy
- Periodic, scheduled and priced up front: Upholstery on soft seating
- Periodic, scheduled and priced up front: High level dusting including light fittings and vents
That is a sample rather than the whole list. The full office & commercial cleaning page sets out every section of the scope, what is deliberately excluded and why, how long it takes on each property size, and what tends to go wrong.
What office & commercial cleaning costs in Daybrook
Contract office cleaning, weekly cost on a standard specification out of hours. Our own cost research puts the Midlands at around the UK average to 10% below it, so Nottingham sits in the lower half of every range on this page.
£60 to £120
Typical per week in Daybrook. A written fixed price for your property takes about a minute: ask for one.
| Property | Typical per week |
|---|---|
| Up to 10 desks, 2 to 3 visits | £60 to £120 |
| 10 to 25 desks, 3 to 5 visits | £120 to £280 |
| 25 to 50 desks, 5 visits | £280 to £520 |
| 50 to 100 desks, 5 visits | £520 to £950 |
| 100+ desks | £950 and up |
Washroom count moves a quote more than desk count does. Two extra cubicles change the hours more than twenty extra desks.
Priced separately
| Extra | Typical cost |
|---|---|
| Office cleaning, per hour | £15 to £28 |
| Carpet deep clean | £1.50 to £3.50 per m² |
| Hard floor strip and reseal | £3 to £7 per m² |
| Washroom deep clean and descale | £150 to £400 |
These are typical Nottingham market ranges, not our price list. We quote a fixed price in writing for your property before anything starts, because a number produced from a bedroom count alone has priced an average property rather than yours. The figures above come from our own UK cost research, set out in full in this guide.

Do you clean workshop and warehouse floors as well as the office part?
Yes, and they are specified separately because they need different equipment. Sealed concrete wants a rotary machine and a wet vacuum at a set interval rather than a daily mop, and the interval depends on what you actually do on it. Office, washroom and hard floor go on separate lines in the specification with hours against each, so you can see what you are buying and add or drop a line later without renegotiating the whole thing.
Our unit is on a shared estate. Do you need anything from the landlord?
Usually, and it is quicker to ask at the start than on the first evening. A managing agent will normally want our public liability and employers liability certificates and site specific method statements before anyone works out of hours, and some want key holder details lodged with the alarm company. Give us the name of whoever manages the estate when you ask for a quote and we will deal with them directly rather than through you.
Can you work after we close?
Yes, and on the parade it is usually the only workable slot. What we settle first is the practical side: who holds keys, how the alarm is set and unset, and whether the street door is shared with residential flats. Where it is, we keep the noisy work away from late hours and use the stair quietly. If your insurer or landlord wants key holder details lodged somewhere, give us the contact and we will provide what they ask for.
Do you restock the washroom consumables?
We can, and for a small premises it is usually simpler than running it yourself. There are two ways to do it. Either you buy the stock and we check levels and refill on every visit, or we supply and invoice it separately from the cleaning hours so you can see the two apart. Either way we report when something is running low rather than letting a dispenser sit empty until a customer finds it.
Do you cover the whole of Daybrook?
Yes, all of NG5 and the surrounding streets, under Gedling Borough Council. We are based in New Basford, NG7, and there is no travel charge to any part of our area.
How much does office & commercial cleaning cost in Daybrook?
The same as anywhere else on our patch, because we do not price by postcode. What moves the number for this service is the number of washrooms, the visit frequency, the flooring type and whether we supply consumables. Tell us that and you get a fixed price in writing rather than a range.
How soon can you start office & commercial cleaning in Daybrook?
Allow four to six weeks if you are changing contractor, because TUPE, keys and site induction all take real time. Most houses have a drive, though on the older pairs it is one narrow strip and usually already occupied, and we group Daybrook with Arnold, Woodthorpe and Sherwood on the rota.
