Office & Commercial Cleaning for Eastwood homes
Small units on and just off the main road, one room wide and running back to a yard below street level. Waste leaves through the shop, and the parts worth funding are the ones a customer stands in front of.
The trading premises here are narrow: a shop front on the main road, one room wide, running a long way back to a stock room and then a yard below that. Two things follow from that shape. The first is that everything, waste included, travels out through the trading floor, because there is no side access and the back gate opens onto a drop with steps. The second is that these are places customers stand in rather than offices people work at, so the specification has to weight what a customer actually sees: the glass at the front, the floor for the first few strides, and the washroom, which in a unit this size is usually reached past the stock. Desk counts settle nothing. We price it room by room and put the hours where they get noticed.
Eastwood sits in NG16, under Broxtowe Borough Council. On the practical side: Streets off the main road are narrow and parked both sides, and there is nowhere to stop on the road itself, so we park off it and walk in. On the let properties we work from a key safe rather than meeting anyone.
What we run into on Eastwood office & commercial cleaning jobs
The stock room at the back is the part that never gets specified and always needs it. It sits below the level of the street, it is unheated, and stock stands on bare concrete because there is nowhere else for it to go. Cardboard on a cold floor draws moisture out of the slab and softens, and softened cardboard sheds fibre every time a box is moved, which is why the dust in these rooms is grey and woolly rather than gritty. Sweeping it dry puts most of it into the air and then back onto the stock. It wants a vacuum with a proper filter, and the boxes lifted off the floor onto anything at all.
How an Eastwood office & commercial cleaning job actually runs
Commercial premises in the town centre are rarely only the ground floor. Above a shop there is usually a flat, a treatment room or a small office reached by its own door on the street and a steep straight stair, and the first question on any quote is who is responsible for that shared stair, because it is the part nobody has written down. The businesses themselves are small, often one or two people, and that changes the arrangement more than floor area does. There is no facilities manager to let anybody in, so the work runs on keys, an alarm code and a DBS checked cleaner working alone in an empty building, all agreed in writing before the first visit rather than sorted out on a doorstep. Hours follow the same logic. A single handed business cannot have somebody vacuuming through its only appointment of the morning, so we take an early slot or a late one and then keep it fixed, which turns the visit into something the diary is built around instead of something that interrupts it every week.
Who books it here
The local reference points are the D. H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum on Victoria Street, Nottingham Road and Eastwood Hall, which is usually enough for us to find a property without a postcode lookup.
We run Eastwood on the same round as Kimberley, Nuthall and Hucknall.
What we check on every Eastwood job
Doors here open straight onto a pavement that sits on a slope, and from autumn onwards that pavement gets gritted. Salt causes the trouble rather than grit. It comes in on the soles of everybody who walks through the door, dissolves in whatever moisture is already on the floor and then dries as a pale bloom that looks exactly like a badly rinsed mop and is nothing of the kind. Going at it with detergent moves it about and leaves more behind, because you are adding water to something already dissolved and then letting it dry in place again. It needs lifting with plenty of clean water and a proper rinse, with the water changed often, and it needs a barrier mat long enough to take several strides rather than the small square most premises keep just inside the door, which is far too short to take anything off a sole.
What the office & commercial cleaning covers
A sample of what is included
- Weekly or fortnightly: Internal glass and partitions
- Weekly or fortnightly: Stairwells including handrails and risers
- Periodic, scheduled and priced up front: Upholstery on soft seating
- Every visit: Kitchen and breakout areas
That is a sample rather than the whole list. The full office & commercial cleaning page sets out every section of the scope, what is deliberately excluded and why, how long it takes on each property size, and what tends to go wrong.
What office & commercial cleaning costs in Eastwood
Contract office cleaning, weekly cost on a standard specification out of hours. Our own cost research puts the Midlands at around the UK average to 10% below it, so Nottingham sits in the lower half of every range on this page.
£60 to £120
Typical per week in Eastwood. A written fixed price for your property takes about a minute: ask for one.
| Property | Typical per week |
|---|---|
| Up to 10 desks, 2 to 3 visits | £60 to £120 |
| 10 to 25 desks, 3 to 5 visits | £120 to £280 |
| 25 to 50 desks, 5 visits | £280 to £520 |
| 50 to 100 desks, 5 visits | £520 to £950 |
| 100+ desks | £950 and up |
Washroom count moves a quote more than desk count does. Two extra cubicles change the hours more than twenty extra desks.
Priced separately
| Extra | Typical cost |
|---|---|
| Office cleaning, per hour | £15 to £28 |
| Carpet deep clean | £1.50 to £3.50 per m² |
| Hard floor strip and reseal | £3 to £7 per m² |
| Washroom deep clean and descale | £150 to £400 |
These are typical Nottingham market ranges, not our price list. We quote a fixed price in writing for your property before anything starts, because a number produced from a bedroom count alone has priced an average property rather than yours. The figures above come from our own UK cost research, set out in full in this guide.

Our bins have to come out through the shop. When would you work?
Early, before you open. Trading hours here are conventional, so there is nothing to be gained from a late shift instead. Waste going out through the front is fine as long as it is the last thing done and the floor behind it gets finished afterwards, which is the bit that tends to get skipped. We agree at the survey where the van stands, who holds keys and what time the shutters go up, so none of it is decided on the first morning.
The stock room floor is bare concrete. Is there anything to be done with it?
Cleaning it properly and sealing it are two different jobs, and only the first is ours. Unsealed concrete is porous, so it holds dust in the surface and gives it back, and no amount of mopping changes that: the water goes in and the dust comes up again as it dries. What does work is keeping stock off the floor, vacuuming rather than brushing, and damp mopping in one direction with clean water. Sealing it is worth pricing separately with a flooring contractor.
There is a flat above us and we share the stair. Who is meant to clean it?
Whoever the lease says, and it is worth checking before anybody agrees a specification, because a shared stair with no owner is the part of a building that gets steadily worse. It is straightforward to include as its own line, with an agreed frequency, so both parties can see what is being done. Where the flat is let separately, the landlord or letting agent is usually the right person to ask rather than the tenant upstairs.
White marks appear on the floor through the winter after cleaning. Is that a mopping problem?
It is road salt rather than poor mopping, and the fix is rinsing rather than more detergent. Salt tracked in dissolves, spreads with the mop and then dries pale wherever the water sat, which is why it looks worst just inside the door and along the busiest line. Clean water, changed frequently, and a rinse pass lift it. A longer barrier mat cuts how much arrives in the first place, and through the gritting months that matters more than anything else.
Do you cover the whole of Eastwood?
Yes, all of NG16 and the surrounding streets, under Broxtowe Borough Council. We are based in New Basford, NG7, and there is no travel charge to any part of our area.
How much does office & commercial cleaning cost in Eastwood?
The same as anywhere else on our patch, because we do not price by postcode. What moves the number for this service is the number of washrooms, the visit frequency, the flooring type and whether we supply consumables. Tell us that and you get a fixed price in writing rather than a range.
How soon can you start office & commercial cleaning in Eastwood?
Allow four to six weeks if you are changing contractor, because TUPE, keys and site induction all take real time. Streets off the main road are narrow and parked both sides, and there is nowhere to stop on the road itself, so we park off it and walk in, and we group Eastwood with Kimberley, Nuthall and Hucknall on the rota.
